Persuasive Essay About Softball
1. “Hey batter, batter, batter, batter, and SWING”! Softball isn’t just a game; to me softball is my life! There is nothing more satisfying than being a part of my high school softball team. I’ve been playing since I was big enough to walk and my mom has always been there cheering me on. Yes, she may have wanted me to be a cheerleader or a band member and maybe even be on the track team but to me, this is me, this is MY sport. There are many reasons that softball really pulls me in. First and foremost softball is team friendly, you work together but at the same time you still get your chance to shine. Next, while playing softball you always have room to improve so it keeps you busy, keep you working to be better. And lastly, softball is competitive, who doesn’t like a little competition every now and then? “Softball is team friendly”. Without my team mates we would all suck, but having each other we can work off strong and weak points and make each other look better. Don’t get me wrong, I love my time to shine and that is always there too! Think about it, the ball is hit to center field and you’re the only one out there but your team mates are telling you where it’s at: you get the glory for catching the ball but if it weren’t for your team mates you may have not caught it at all. This is why I love that …show more content…
Softball is not a sport that changes frequently unless you’re changing positions to something you’ve never played before. Learning a new position is a way to improve yourself and your team. As a softball player your coach should be able to place you anywhere on the field. If you’re primarily outfield and your coach wants you infield now you have no choice but to try it, and then you can see what your weakness is when you aren’t doing what you were growing up doing your whole life. Trying new things can definitely be different but with the help of your team mates you will be able to conquer

My accomplishments in softball were second team third baseman for my freshman and sophomore year and my junior year I got the first team utility player. I have got voted team captain in softball. In softball we had two coach changes, out first coach was Mr. Chavez and the coach currently is Mr. Torgeson. These two men have different coaching methods and it was very hard to adjust. Chavez was all about the hitting and Torg was all about bunting. There overall look at how the game is played are completely different from each other. Therefore when he had a coaching change it was a big shock for me. As a freshman, I played on the varsity team and I really loved getting to have that experience. I loved playing softball and I have played since I was about 5. In Softball I seem to always hurt myself, I have hip problems and I just recently had surgery on my wrist because of softball. Therefore I learned that you need to take care of yourself and work out to keep everything attached. You also need to practice hard to succeed because in my opinion, I think hitting a softball is super hard and you need lots of practice succeed. Softball is a great example of you will fail first before you succeed because in softball there is three strikes and you might not hit the first pitch but you can hit the next one. Therefore batting in softball you might fail first before he succeed. “Never let the fear of striking out get in your…

I came from a family of really athletic people. My Mom and sister Kaitlyn both played softball from a young age and had many great accomplishments. My sister Kassidy played soccer from a young age as well. I have a lot to live up to. I started playing soccer when I four and I played for one year until I was no longer interested in it anymore. I started softball when I was five, and it wasn’t my favorite. I then retreated back to soccer for a few years. When I was in second grade, I cut my ankle on the bowl that my dog broke when I was trying to get cereal because I was hungry. After that I really didn’t want to play soccer anymore, so I decided to retire my soccer cleats forever. After this, I tried various different ranging from swim team to softball, and as you can imagine, softball stuck. When it did though, it came with my hot-headed personality showing. There was no way around it. I was also very independent, which could be a good thing in some cases, but as I got older I was required to do more group work. I just didn’t know how to.…

Oh yeah, constant nagging, a ton of lies with a side of attitude, and having to regenerate a new set of lungs after every practice due to the excessive amount of running. Despite wanting to shoot myself during practice, I did take some valuable lessons away from playing softball.…

90 minutes to make or break your season. The grass under your cleats when arriving at the pitch. Wind blowing through jerseys while sprinting to get the ball. The silky feel of your school colors on your sweaty skin. The thrill achieved by that one perfect kick straight into the feet of the waiting teammate right next to the goalie's box. The skill and precision that goes into one sport that the world goes crazy for. Imagine dribbling across the length of the pitch and passing the ball, waiting for that pass back to complete the two-touch the team has been practicing endlessly. The ball is coming straight at you at break-neck speed. It’s too high to stop with your feet, what do you do? You breathe, take a look at your coach who is chewing ferociously…

Growing up I played baseball to me baseball was everything i could think of. i couldn't wait to the weekend so i could put on that dirty uniform and pick up the new bat and nice leather glove and play baseball. When i was young i played in a big park in NYC where everyone saw you play so as i grew up everyone expected me to continue playing baseball and get better and work hard my mother always signed me up for baseball and i met a lot of coaches who help me gain more talent throughout the years. So as i grew up baseball started to be more and more of a priority to me i went to baseball practice two times a week one during the week and one on the weekend and with baseball practice i attended a baseball program which is twice a week meaning less and less time for homework and time to study. that being said i believe that time management and dealing with less and less sleep is the biggest problem with high school sports.…
