How would you feel being trapped in a cage? Not being able to move because of such a large crowd in such a confined space? How would you feel being surrounded by disease, illness and constant abuse? To animals, this is known as a factory farm. Factory farming is where animals are packed as closely together as possible, most never see or feel sunlight, able to get fresh air or even able to turn around. These terrible conditions have serious effects on the animals physically and mentally. Disease spreads and fights break out between animals. This worldwide epidemic known as Factory farming began when greedy people began to modify farms to maximise profit for themselves but because of this, it not only has a terrible impact on animals but people. We the consumer assume most of our food and dairy products comes from “Happy Farms” with the help of Little Bo Peep. When in reality that's a lie we tell ourselves of where our food comes from so we sleep at night. Despite the fact Factory, farmed goods are cheaper than free range goods not only are you supporting these organisations of factory farming but you are killing these animals. 2 of 3 farm animals in the world are now factory farmed. We all need to realise not all farms are like Farmville we can’t lie to ourselves of what's happening in the real world. We need to all take action to stop this epidemic or at least take the first step which is to stop supporting these businesses and start supporting traditional farming/ free range businesses to close down these farms and have factory farming banned.
