You are late to your job. One more tardy and you're out. Gone. Fired. You sprint to the car, wearing the same clothes you wore yesterday. Scarf down day old coffee and drive. You steadily increase your speed along highway 270, noticing little of your surroundings. However, that fear that breathes down your neck, the fear that you’ll lose your job. You have an idea that could save your job, but it's risky, call your boss. You notice that your phone is on the passenger side, inside the cup holder. Taking no thought into what could be the end of a life, dive for the phone. Your car speeds to the left and rams into another car, causing a domino effect of crashes. Cars are tumbled, glass everywhere, children screaming. Texting and driving is responsible for over 1.6 million crashes each year. Texting and driving is responsible for the deaths of innocent lives of friends, neighbors, family members, and children.

Secondly, everyone knows this is a problem, but what are we doing to fix it? New inventions, new infomercials, new ways to spread the new no distracted driving trend. A recent invention called the SMARTwheel is expected to become the greatest innovation in vehicle intelligence in 2016. The SMARTwheel company’s goal is to be in cars everywhere. The SMARTwheel works by buzzing the driver whenever the driver becomes ‘distracted’ using its driver sensing technology. This invention will save lives and change the face of driving as we know it. With the help of many other companies, people, infomercials, texting and driving will be stopped.
Lastly, texting and driving is the cause of the many teenage and the elderly. With everyone’s help we will stop this problem.In addition, texting and driving causes you to lower your reaction time significantly, almost as if you were drunk. It is the highest ever recorded contribution to teenage deaths. Texting and driving causes you to speed without noticing and most importantly is Illegal!
I do not want anymore lives to be endangered by an issue that can be stopped. Do you?
