Wanting to better ourselves and our overall life expectancy is something we have been fascinated with since the beginning of time. As a society we are constantly looking for magical cures for anything from deadly diseases to wrinkling from old age. There is something inside all of us that wants to prolong our youth and at the same time improve the overall quality of life. When it comes to the topic of super longevity, there are many different aspects of this certain belief. A question asked in class, was, if there was magic pill that would let you live until the age of 150, would you consume the pill? There are different philosophical questions that arise when the topic of immortality comes into play. Should people be taking this medicine? Does it mess with the natural order of life? I would assume that most people would want to take this medicine, assuming it stops your aging as well. Who would not want to live longer, more time with their love ones, and more time to experience life and the world. Should parents be able to augment their children? Would it be considered “frowned upon” to augment one's child before a certain age? Would their child be placed into different classes, for possibly having different strengths that “normal” children just could not compete with. This might even change the whole nature of education, and the educational system. It is possible that homeschooling would become increasingly popular, as it would allow for students to practice certain strengths. School in general might phase out as well. If knowledge can be placed into a child brain through methods of augmentation, one can say what the purpose of traditional schooling has besides the social aspect, which can be substituted with virtual
