Persuasive Essay
People in school are poor at taking test, the main reason they are bad at testing because they get nervous and stress before the test, the way they can fix this is by getting pets. It is proven that dogs or cats reduce stress because petting or playing with a dog or a cat increases stress-reducing hormone, oxytocin, and decrease the production of the stress hormone, cortisol, said by Animalsmart.org. Stress is a pressure or tension exerted on a material object it could also be a state of mental or emotional strain or tension resulting from adverse or very demanding circumstances said from stress.org. Many things can cause stress like being unhappy with your job, having to take a test to determine if you are going to pass the grade or not, …show more content…

The best option the school should do is to get a cat or a dog because they can be interacted with, like playing with it. Also dogs know when kids are stressed so they would stop playing and would just stare at you and they might come up close to you and make you feel better (live science).
Although some pets like cats and dogs make some children allergic, animals with no hair, fur, or dander (dead skin flakes) can be an alternative. The reason kids are allergic to pets is because of the pollen, urine, dirt, and dander in their fur, skin, or hair said by the “Asthma and Allergy Foundation of America”. If the child does get a allergic reaction the teachers should see that the child would have a stuffy nose, itchy skin, and swelling.
Although dogs might bite children you could get an old dog or cat that is trained. The reason they should get an old dog or cat is because they are cheaper and they don’t bite or scratch that much. The reason the baby bites more is because it would feel like it is danger so it would have to defend itself. If they bite it would be from it wanting to play with a kid. Old dogs like to sleep on a human or child because it makes them feel better, and the only time they would attack would be when they are feeling like they are getting

Clarissa Harlowe "Clara" Barton was a pioneer nurse who founded the American Red Cross. In addition to being a hospital nurse, she worked as a teacher, patent clerk, and humanitarian. At a time when relatively few women worked outside the home, Barton built a career helping others. She was never married, as she knew the restrictions of a married woman at the time, but had a relationship with John J. Elwell. During the end of the American Civil War, Barton worked at a hospital she made helping the people at the Andersonville prison camp where 13,000 people died.…

Due to the financial crisis there have been many changes made to government programs to reduce costs and help with debt. Many of these cuts are happening statewide, in America’s public schools. The first programs that are being cut are the art programs, and the excuse is that the core classes are more important. The argument is that children need to be more focused on test scores in Math, Science, English and History. It is unfair to single out art classes, there should be a more even spread of budget cuts, not just the sole elimination of the arts. There are parents who are indifferent with the arts and they are unfazed by their removal from elementary public schools. What many of these parents do not recognize is that there are actually benefits of the arts that help with core subjects. Some benefits are strengthening problem solving skills, stimulating critical thinking and helping developmental growth. There is also a duel component that shows that there is a direct correlation between SAT test scores and art programs in schools, as well as higher participation and attendance. It has also been shown that the arts can help boost the economy.…

“Give me your tired, your poor, your huddled masses yearning to breathe free, the wretched refuse of your teeming shore, send the homeless tempest-tost to me, I lift my lamp beside the golden door.” Reference? America has long been the land of freedom and hope to the world, and the American military is what has kept her that way. People have forgotten how important and valuable the military is to the world that we live in. As part of the Budget Control Act of 2011, automatic sequestration calls for $1.2 trillion in lowered federal spending, with 50% coming from defense and 50% coming from non-defense budgets. If Congress cannot reach an agreement, these cuts will reduce the Department of Defense spending by about $55 billion dollars. On September 11, 2001, the United States faced a difficult time in which 3,000 lives were lost due to an attack upon the U.S. by terrorists who hijacked airplanes and crashed them into the Twin Towers in New York City, the Pentagon in Arlington, Virginia, and the United States Pennsylvania! That day, 9/11, has become a day in which we remember the lives that were lost and the families who were affected by such a tragedy. We called on our military once again, and they were there to protect our country. I am against automatic sequestration towards the military and military programs for many reasons.…

Step Three: Perform a basic examination on your own of your prospective puppy's eyes, ears, mouth, and nose. Are the eyes alert and clear with no drainage? Are the ears clean and free of mites? How about the mouth and nose? Are the puppy's gums a healthy light pink color? Check does the puppy have any discoloration on its skin or flaky skin? This could just be due to an allergy, but it can also be the early signs of parasitic mange or another condition. Most importantly your puppy should be breathing regularly without any wheezing or labored breathing.…

Online, physically, or verbally you can be a victim of being bullied. You don’t have to keep things as they are. The question is how to handle the situation (Do you attack the bully and become the bully yourself? Or do you ignore the bully and pretend all is well?) What you do is speak up and ask for help. I would know, because not only was I a victim, I was also a person who stood by and simply watched it happen.…

Persuasive Essay : Many people would be happy and satisfied if they were in a relationship with money and fame. Doesn't that seem like the perfect life? Everyone begins to think that in life that's all that matters, and that's all they need, nothing could be better. Society dictates our morals, feelings, the way we do things and try's to tell us certain things we do are wrong and we need to do them the way they feel necessary. Our generations to come will have no clue what the meaning of a true, harmonious, happy life. They begin to think that not telling the truth is ok , and eventually get so use to it that even if they could hear the truth they wouldn't want to. It becomes part of their daily life. Clearly our society, or government has their own sneaky, conniving ways to try and brain wash everyone. Due to the problem that most people would rather have love, money, and fame, it's very rare to find some one who doesn't have any of that but is satisfied with only knowing the truth. People look up to celebrities, but they do not set good examples or try to be role models. In proposing a solution to the problem of adhering to the actions of celebrities, the analysis relates to Henry David Thoreau's belief in individuality as he talked about in his book Walden. Who is your hero? Usually the answer to this question, at least for many of us, involves a famous actor or singer, a celebrity. The celebrities of the world are the wealthiest, most beautiful and most stylish individuals to walk upon the planet. These icons, however, seem to have no moral dilemma whatsoever with corrupting the public. They are role models to the public, just as parents are role models to their children. Children mirror the actions of their parents, as does society the actions of celebrities. Suddenly, few people in the world are content because they do not live the same lifestyle as Madonna or Michael Jordan. Henry David Thoreau offers solutions in his work, Walden, to the constant societal…

Many people argue that internal factors within the Roman Empire caused it to fall were many social, economical, and political problems. One political problem was that the emperors and leaders became corrupt with power and wealth and then most soldiers in the army fended for themselves and didn't work together. The troops soon became pillagers targeting other citizens like them. “The troops became the enemy within; pillage and slaughter of fellow citizens was indiscriminate”(Santosuosso). The whole government and army was filled with leaders who wanted all of the money and power they could get their hands on. “Stopping one threat was not enough, for another would emerge; if that new threat was pushed back, another popped up elsewhere”(Santosuosso). The invasions of the Germanic and the Huns weakened the Roman army since they weren't very strong to begin with. The Germanic Tribes kept on fighting no matter how many times they were undaunted by defeats and hoping to lay hands on the rich spoils of the empire were continuous, but with low resources and a relentless war effort troops lost hope. Once the Roman army could no longer defend its own borders, the Germanic tribes began to invade and Roman provinces fell on after another. After Marius's reform which made it so that anyone with a Roman citizenship could join the army. This made more citizens to join, but they wanted immediate wealth, material goods and improve their condition, they chose to not to be loyal to the republic but to any leader who provided booty for them. Another factor would be the economical problems, the oppressive taxidation system caused farmers to abandon their farms because they couldn't find tenants to cultivate their land and their land was under tax burden, unable to make them a living. “The government tried to meet the demand by tying agricultural workers to their…

"It's not just a game," to many athletes this statement rings true. Sports fuel the drive and determination within people, and provide them an essential learning tool from which they can grow. Competitive is defined as, "of or relating to a situation in which people or groups are trying to win a contest or be more successful than other : relating to or involving competition ."(merriam-webster.com) This concept of competitiveness is the foundation of all sports. The competitive spirit and thirst to want to better oneself in order to be at the top is a fueling force that will propel our children far beyond their years on the court. Providing children with equal playing time in youth sports discourages the necessary need for healthy competition and takes away valuable life lessons that will prepare them for the future.…
