Persuasive Essay: The Controversy Of Animal Experimentation

Imagine being confined to a cold cage, no bigger than you, without family, or friends, watching, as one by one, your compatriots leaving, but never come back, waiting silently for your turn. Good morning audience of the Federal Youth Parliament, this is what many animals endure before their final moments, tortured, hurt, and isolated. Animal experimenting is a national system of sadistic torture, vivisection, and genocide, which has been carried out for generations under the disguise of “medical research” and definitely must be stopped. The three main reasons for banning this grotesque science are: present experimentation is currently not species specific therefore results are inaccurate, killing for beauty is not worth it, and animals are more useful alive.
Mice are mice, and people are people right? Animal testing should be species specific to ensure an accurate test results. Chimpanzees are immune to AIDS, Hepatitis B and common Malaria, all of which kills millions of humans every single year. So, is it fair to use animals when science proves that have a completely different genetic structure to us humans? A strong example of this is the naked mole rats, which are immune to cancer; the same cancer that kill 46,570 Australians each and every year. How then would these
animals be a good test subjects? This is incorrect and unethical and must be stopped!
We must stop the ugliness of the beauty and health industries and forbid animal testing. Animals are isolated, injected with harmful and deadly chemicals whilst being confined in a small cage with no room to breathe. Feeding or shaving their fur, researcher pour chemicals that could easily kill us humans in small doses! Some of the few brands include, Dettol, Garnier, Rexona, Lynx, and Oral B.! Do we really want products which take innocent lives? Though some animals survive the torturous experimenting, miraculously safe and healthy, the company murders the animal in the name of humanity. According to Humane Research Australia, up to 6.7 million animals are used in the experiments, hence killing 6.7 million animals each year. Our definition of “humane” is basically chalk and cheese. To have the mere conscious to kill animals is sinful, but then how sinful is it when someone actually tormenting it then killing it? Animal testing is harmful and dangerous and must be stopped.
It is inhumane to kill animals to they are the ones who make our lives whole.
Many come when us humans need help. We all know Murphy the donkey, alongside with Simpson picking up casualties from dark, rat infested trenches, without fear or complaining. His loyalty was condemned with the purple cross from RSPCA the highest bravery award there is. Another situation involves dolphins. The smartest animal in the animal kingdom, came to a surfer’s rescue when a shark encountered him. By forming a ring around the man to prevent the murderous beast in attacking him. This demonstrates that animals care from us and believe with all their hearts that no animal needs to die. If only humans think like
that.
To conclude, animal experimentation is revolting and wicked and must be stopped as it is inhumane and inaccurate. To support my claim there are three vital point. It must be specific to species, killing animals for beauty is ugly and animals bring out the love in us. It is not hard to help them by simply ceasing the usage of products that do animal testing can make a vast difference. Give a voice to does who cannot. Thank you.
