This is a persuasive speech relating to the book Animal Farm by George Orwell, talks about making Benjamin the donkey the leader of Animal Farm
Animal Farm- persuasive speech

Good morning/ afternoon Mrs xxx and fellow classmates. Today I will be persuading to you that I strongly believe the role of a potential leader would be most suitable for Benjamin the donkey. In my speech today I will be convincing that Benjamin is the best candidate for a new leader. I will be discussing many good reasons to vote for Benjamin and will also be telling you about what Benjamin will be likely to achieve when he is voted as a leader.

To begin my speech, I would like to state the numerous good points about Benjamin. Although Benjamin was clearly the wisest animal of the farm, he never thought of himself to be better than any other animal. This shows that he has the excellent quality of humbleness, which if he was a leader, could use most beneficially into hearing the opinion of the others on the farm. On the other hand, the old leader, Napoleon always thought most highly of himself, and never refrained from boasting about his greatness. He never listened to the opinions of the other animals on the farm.

Benjamin is also one of the most hard-working animals on the farm. During the film, he also appeared to work overtime and into the night when other animals were resting. Unlike the pigs, if Benjamin were to be a future leader, he would not be lazy but would continue to work strenuously perhaps even more than before. Future life on the farm would be guaranteed to be more enjoyable if a wise leader alike Benjamin were elected. He would ensure a better life for all of the animals by taking care of all his responsibilities and not to be lazy and selfish as shown by the evil mob of pigs. There are so many more positive details of Benjamin's personality. Benjamin shows the characteristics of: being humble, hard-working, wise, responsible, kind and caring and most importantly of all, he will only do things that would be for the benefit of his fellow farm animals.

Imagine if Benjamin was voted to be the next leader of Animal

"Power tends to corrupt, and absolute power corrupts absolutely," said by John Dalberg-Acton. This quote applies to George Orwell's political novella, Animal Farm: A Fairy Story, which symbolizes the Russian Revolution by portraying various leaders and supporters though allegorical characters. Throughout the fable, Orwell strongly emphasizes the point of how power can easily corrupt the ruler of a society. At the beginning of the story the animals of Manor Farm defeat the tyrannical Mr. Jones after many years of torture in an effort to create a better life for themselves. However, when a new leader comes to power, their original idea of an idealistic society, when put into reality, becomes a dystopia. Napoleon utilizes fear and manipulation…

Martin Luther King Jr. was a man of integrity and honesty. He did what was right even when no one was looking. The pigs, on the other hand, were not strong when it came to integrity. The pigs were known and accepted as being the smartest animals on the farm. This would be awesome except the pigs used their cleverness to take advantage of others and…

Orwell's 'Animal Farm' is an allegory because it represents Stalin's rise to power in Russia. His dictatorship to the people of Russia is how Napoleon treated the animals on the farm. Napoleon the pig represents Joseph Stalin, the dictating leader of the Soviet Union. Napoleon tricked the other animals into believing he was the only one that wanted the best for them. He slowly brought the farm from a more equal state to a state where he was considered and treated as a king. He also murdered any of the animals who opposed him or stood in his way, without trial. Stalin did the same by consolidating power and expanding the limits of his role. He eliminated anyone who tried to oppose him. He organized a massive purge where "enemies" were imprisoned,…

All across the world, all throughout history, there has been authority, and there has been rebellion. It is a constant cycle of controversy that has, and will continue to, have an impact on the human race. The speech presented by Samuel L. Jackson and the novel “Animal Farm” by George Orwell both display noticeable forms of authority and rebellion. They both describe the injustice being committed and in one case, attempt to gain equality with authority, whilst the other tries to overthrow it.…

Everyone else on the farm would think I was crazy and would just report me to Napoleon, and I would probably be sentenced to death. The more I thought about it, the more I thought of how impossible it seemed. I mean in all seriousness, Going against the whole Animal Farm by myself would be close to impossible, even if i'm the strongest horses on the farm, but i was hoping the talk with Benjamin would help. “Hey kid” Benjamin said quietly “You'll never get tired of that will you?” I said with a smirk.…

Animal Farm by George Orwell was trying to show the dislike of communism. Because the old form of government end up being quiet similar to the new form. Orwell shows this by getting rid of Mr. Jones for mistreating the animals, and overtime Napoleon a pig comes to power, the same thing happened but with a different look. George Santayana wrote, “Those who cannot remember the past are condemned to repeat it.” This quote is similar to Orwell’s dislikes and the way he shows it in the book. Both the people and the animals forget the past and end up as before.…

Rulers always need a goal to work towards to. Without it, people or in this case, animals may get restless and want to revolt. In George Orwell’s allegory, Animal Farm, an old wise pig called Old Major says a speech where all the animals on Manor Farm will never have to suffer under a human’s wretched rule ever again. With humans in their lives, it just makes everything more difficult since humans take everything the animals produce. A few months later, Old Major who has already peacefully passed away, the animals on the farm gets tired of being fed less than the minimum amount, breaks into a rebellion against the owner of Manor Farm, Mr. Jones. The animals were finally free! The pigs, who are considered the wisest of the bunch, have educated themselves how to read and write. Snowball, Napoleon, and Squealer, the major pigs, have taken Old Major’s ideas and created a new philosophy, Animalism and Seven Commandments. Snowball and Napoleon began having debates over new plans such as the construction of a windmill. Napoleon becoming more and more frustrated of Snowball’s ideas, he uses the dogs he secretly raised to chase Snowball out of the farm. Napoleon, now an arrogant and powerful pig, quickly takes charge of the farm after the expulsion of Snowball. Napoleon displays many strategies such as terror, propaganda, and rewriting history to obtain and maintain power over the animals.…

I picked this article because it demonstrates blatant propaganda. Basically, President Barack Obama has claimed to the New York Times Magazine that he manipulated the media to “sell” to the public a nuclear deal with Iran. Apparently, he helped create a false narrative so that the general public would support the deal. It mirrors Animal Farm in numerous ways, yet does not share the same violent plot.…

In Animal Farm by George Orwell there are two key chapters that can be compared. In chapter two it is the morning after the rebellion and the animals are overjoyed. “They woke at dawn” shows the beginning of a new day, this creates a sense of hope and represents the start of their new life without humans. However in chapter seven it is the night of the slaughters and the reader can see the caparison between the time of day when Orwell says “gilded by the level rays of the sun” This shows the sun is setting on Animals Farm and represents the end of their hopes and dreams. There is also a difference between Orwell’s word choice in both chapters, in chapter two the animals “raced” “rushed” and “hurled” portraying their excitement, enthusiasm and…

xThe pigs were able to rise to power fairly easily through their imposition of propaganda to alter the animals’ thoughts and actions to the pigs’ favor. The pigs come to resemble humans, the last sign of their total dominance so the farm continues to run as it had for years, still ridden with oppressive leaders. The tale shows that a revolution does not always bring great change or a better outcome because the story does not end in a resolution or promise of a revolution. The idea of propaganda being implemented by a leader in order to rise to power is a theme that recurs throughout history, but as a teacher points out not only in governments.…

“I (Old Major) have little more to say. I merely repeat, remember always your duty of enmity towards Man and all his ways. Whatever goes upon two legs is an enemy. Whatever goes upon four legs, or has wings is a friend. And remember also that in fighting against man, we must not come to resemble him. Even when you have conquered him, do not adopt his vices.” George Orwell, Animal Farm (11). Old Major, the oldest and wisest pig on the farm, described to the animals what life would look like without Man ruling their lives. Animal Farm was not supposed to look like another ordinary farm, but one that thrived and was peaceful without Man ruling over them. Snowball, one of the farm’s leaders at the beginning, would have been a far better leader then Napoleon, who was also a leader on the farm. He, Snowball, put the farm’s prosperity above all else because he wanted to see the life that Old Major described. His heart showed that he truly would have proven to be a better leader than Napoleon. Through planning and…
