Phd Statement of Purpose

I am submitting my credentials for admission to the Ph.D. program in Organizational Behavior at Purdue University because I want to pursue a career in teaching and organizational consulting. To be more specific, I am interested in studying the factors that influence employee motivation, employee productivity in different environments and the effects of layoffs on employee motivation. In order to better understand these issues, it is extremely essential for me to have a strong command of various areas of organizational theory, psychology as well as management principles.

I believe that the Ph.D. in Organizational Behavior would be beneficial in helping me achieve my career goals since it would provide me with the necessary knowledge, skills and abilities to be successful in teaching at the university level. It would enable me to channel my quantitative and qualitative skills in analyzing organizational issues and would open up new areas in research. Upon completion of my Ph.D., I would like to work at Purdue University as a member of the faculty at the Krannert School of Business if offered a position. It would be a great honor for me to work for the University of Illinois since it is one of the highly reputed universities in the world and I have significant teaching and professional experience that would enable me to deliver.

I am a business professional and an alumnus of the University of Illinois at Urbana Champaign. I graduated in 2008 with an MBA in Marketing and Finance. I completed my Bachelor of Business Administration with a concentration in Management and Organizational Behavior from Illinois Benedictine University. I am confident that my background in business administration and management would make me an ideal candidate for a Ph.D. I have been an avid participant in research and wrote several research papers while enrolled in college and graduate school. My undergraduate degree with a concentration in Organizational Behavior,
