Photography In The 1800s

Taking pictures is something people do on a daily basis from their smart phones, cameras, tablets and IPads without giving a second thought of how far this technology has come. People go to events and expect there to be a photographer to capture and memorialize the highlights. When we read magazines, newspapers, and check things on our phones we expect to see photographs accompanying everything. Photography is an amazing area of technology and art that was developed throughout the past centuries. Unknown to most people, photography like other types of art, has been around for centuries. It became well known and used by the masses since the 1800s so it is a relatively new field. It is so amazing how far photography has come; first cameras taking a whole room to take a picture, to present times now having cameras that fit into the palm of your hand. The clarity of the photographs has also improved dramatically until it is what we have today. People may not appreciate how simple it is to take a picture and get a hard copy of it. After reading a lot of information on this topic I do not take my smart phone camera option for granted any more. There used to be a
It used to be only that really wealthy families could afford getting their families painted for a portrait. Now with the invention of photography a lot more people could take advantage of getting family photos. The poor still was left out but at least the middle class now had photographs. (History of Photography page 3) Another great way that this changed people’s lives was that faraway places can now get photographed. (History of Photography page 14) Some people never get the opportunity to travel out of state or to another country. Now people were having access to seeing a lot of amazing places they might never be exposed too. Also when people went on trips they can now take photographs to show loved ones when they return
