Digital technology has changed photojournalism throughout the years. Photojournalism is the art or practice of communicating news by photographs. People rely on photography in several ways to communicate visually. A journalist uses words to tell a story; meanwhile a photojournalist uses pictures to tell a story. Many people have heard that a picture is worth a thousand words, and photojournalism provides proof of the power and impact that just one photo can have (KellyC 1). News today is usually not accepted without proof of evidence, which can be either pictures or videos. The change in digital technology has enabled people internationally to get a quick hold of the news in minutes. In 1826, Joseph Niepce took the first photograph ever (Shown on Figure 1). Niepce produced the picture by exposing abetment coated plate in the camera obscura for several hours. The development took about eight hours to be completed (Markiqnna 1). Digital photography and technology made capturing reality unchallenging. Before, it would take a long time before people could even take a glance at the picture before being able to print it. Now, as soon as one presses the capturing button, he/she has the privilege of seeing the picture.
