Photosynthesis models the Law of Conservation of Matter and the Law of Conservation of Energy, and there is evidence from some articles that were read to prove this statement.
First, the Law of Conservation of Matter is modeled in photosynthesis, because in the Photosynthesis for Kids article it stated,”Photosynthesis occurs when Chlorophyll, a green pigment that collects lights, consumes radiant energy from the sun. Therefore, this energy is then used to separate water molecules into hydrogen and oxygen atoms. Then, oxygen is released into the atmosphere. While, hydrogen and carbon dioxide collected from the plant are then transformed …show more content…
A plant kept in the dark in a sealed chamber consumes oxygen just as a mouse (or candle), but also that photosynthesis can go on only in the presence of the green pigment chlorophyll”. Meaning that in order for photosynthesis to happen there is a need for the presence of energy, in which would influence the process of photosynthesis and would allow the mouse to breath and the candle to burn. Both of these laws are shown because the Law of Conservation of Matter shows that atoms rearrange but none of the atoms are created or destroyed in a chemical reaction, and as we learned before photosynthesis produces glucose and oxygen due to the combination of carbon dioxide, water and light energy. Covering the oxygen part in this piece of evidence. Then the Law of Conservation of Energy is shown because in photosynthesis, also, is required to make or replenish oxygen because the green pigment chlorophyll makes photosynthesis possible, proving that …show more content…
The evidence is shown from three different articles, the first article, Photosynthesis for Kids, explains the process of photosynthesis and its chemical equation. Which would be interpreted as a some sort of chemical reaction where the “ingredients“ of photosynthesis like water, carbon dioxide and energy are combined and turn into oxygen and glucose, in which supports the chemical reaction definition where substances combine in ways where their atoms rearrange and make a new substance. By having this rearrangement, the Law of Conservation of Matter is modeled in photosynthesis because there's rearrangement in the atoms, but none of the atoms are created or destroyed, this is also proven by the chemical equation of photosynthesis itself, were it might look different, but the truth is that even though there are new molecules they still contain the same amount of atoms before and after the process of photosynthesis, proving part of this statement. Then, the second article, the Law of Conservation of Energy, explained that energy’s role in photosynthesis, from radiant energy from the sun into chemical energy as it reaches the plant(the grass). And then how the energy transmitted from the sun benefits us with energy to do our activities. Photosynthesis models the Law of Conservation of Energy because this law says that energy can change form, but none of the energy is
