Feb 1, 2013 Independence to lead can be a great quality in a person. When leadership is muffled with stubbornness, then we see eye to eye a flaw. When the U.S broke with Great Britain in hopes of gaining their independence bottom line, it became messy. Conflicting ideas occurred, feelings were squashed, and some humanity was lost in what we now refer to as The Revolutionary War. Guidance should never be forgotten on enemy lines of independence, did Taylor know that? Negatively speaking Taylor lacks the mental capacity to commit to Jax. Call it odd or the way Taylor was raised, she treats Jax as an unnecessary luxury. Men like to feel needed and his continuous unrequited feelings for Taylor aren’t exactly beneficial to Jax’s needs. So, what does Jax do in ways of self destructing actions, he cheats on Taylor? In my opinion its Taylors independence is a brick-wall she constantly puts up, that constantly shuts out Jax. That wall Taylor puts up, plus her and Turtles abandonment to escape Annawake equally pull on the ever-so delicate strings Jax is holding on to. Taylor was raised by her mother Alice, she raised her strong and independent as she was, and more importantly raised her without her father. It’s human instinct for a child to watch their parents at a young age and eventually follow in their footsteps. It could in fact be more than coincidental occurrence that Taylor feels the way she does about Jax. Now, taking care of oneself is one thing, but taking head-on the life of a child, takes true courage. Taylor being brought up the way she was, having children to her wasn’t really in the cards. After she finds Turtle left in her car despite her unconventional steps in Taylors life bonding and maternal love for the child are quickly made. Anawake is an excellent interpretation of an independent woman. She went to law school to acquire a career and now works for the Nation. Her fierce perseverance to take away
