At the beginning El salvador was known as Cuscatlan, pipil name.
Their population of El Salvador was about 1,000.00 people during the conquest by Spanish.
People who called Pipiles, came from Mexican villages, they introduced the nahuat and pipil dialect, actually we can find pipil people they are located in Nahuizalco in Sonsonate, and a few villages.
Indigenous had four important branches of Pipiles:
§ The Cuscatlecos who were the predominantand in the region, their capital was Cuscatlan located in Antiguo cuscatlan.
§ The Izalcos who had the cocoa production, that maked them rich.
§ The Nonualcos who were lover warrior.
§ The Mazuahas these pipiles were dedicated to the breeding of white-tailed deer.
