On 01-12-2016 at 1629 hours officers were dispatched to 5th Street and Main Street in reference to a accident involving injuries.

Upon arrival I was instructed by someone on scene that the driver was running through a yard with a child and she was possible intoxicated.

I observed the driver of the vehicle traveling west through the yard located on the southeast corner of 5th Street and main Street.

I made contact with Lori Wood the driver of the vehicle and immediately noticed a strong odor of alcohol coming from her.

I escorted Wood back to the accident scene and while doing so wood made multiple comments about going to prison. When I asked Wood why she was going to be going to prison she advised because she was drinking and she not allowed

While conducting the walk and turn Wood stepped off the line twice and used her hands for balance. Wood also missed the heel to toe on seven steps and made an improper turn. I observed four clues.

Wood was placed under arrest and placed into hand restraints which were properly fitting and double locked. Wood was transported to the Poplar Bluff Police Department booking room where she was advised of implied consent and asked to a test of her breath. At this time Wood asked if she should have an attorney present and she was advised she could contact one. Wood was given twenty minutes to contact her attorney which she used to call one attorney and she got an answering machine and the used it to speak with her mother. Wood was then again asked to submit to a test of her breath at which time she refused.

A search warrant was obtained and Wood was transported to Poplar Bluff Regional Emergency Room where blood was drawn by Michelle Priest a paramedic using a blood alcohol kit. The blood alcohol kit was placed into evidence as 19181.

Wood was transported to the Butler County Justice Center where she was lodged.

Officer Sample spoke with Rachel Wilkerson a passenger in Wood’s vehicle and Deborah Ellington subject in the vehicle behind Wood who both advised Wood did not stop at the stop
