Political Ideology Analysis
The political ideologies in our country, both of the democratic and republican political party, give us an outline of how our society should work. These set of principles help each individual determine their vote. By looking at the Political Ideology chart, the Republican Party falls to the right and the Democratic Party falls to the left. Which indicates that the Republican Party is more conservative and traditional. While the Democratic Party is more liberal and moderate.
Democrats hold on to principles that revolve around benefiting Americans by avoiding discrimination and helping everyone disregarding their social standing. One of the topics presented in their platform is same sex marriage. “Texas Democrats support the Supreme Court decision

    Firstly the parties have different policy views such as the Republican Party has a more hawkish foreign policy, committed to high defence spending and the use of power to defend American Interests e.g. Bush invasion of Iraq in 2003 and the war on Terror whereas the Democratic Party has a more ‘dovish’ foreign policy, internationalist in seeking diplomatic solutions to problems e.g. Obama’s commitment to withdrawing American troops from Afghanistan. Many social issues such as Abortion also have distinct differences in both parties’ policies. The DP platform 200/9 is in strong support of ‘Roe Versus Wade’ and women’s rights whereas the RP platform talked about the ‘Sanctity of all human life’.     It can be argued that political parties now actually have more political differences within the parties than between them this can be argued due to the fact that both the Democrat and the Republican parties have their conservative and liberal/moderate wings.
