The name of the organization is PBS corporation, which stands for Positive Behavior Supports. PBS provides individualized services for those with autism and related disabilities. The company was founded in 2007, with just a three-person staff, and rapidly became one of the largest behavioral support corporations, covering seven states in the nation.
The basic structure of the organization consists of its founder and CEO, a CIO and technical staff, Regional Coordinators, Certified Behavior Analysts, and Behavior Assistants. As autism is exponentially increasing, PBS is attempting to keep up with the demand.

The Coordinators of these teams, mostly young females, usually hold a Master’s Degree in Psychology or related science. They are Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) in charge of managing a team of Analysts and many Behavior Assistants. In essence, the team coordinator serves as managers. Initial interviews with my assigned coordinator stated that a few important issues that some coordinators are facing include, team participants not working as a unit, lack of respect from analysts, and underperformance or missing the expected goals. She implied that there is a common denominator in this set of problems. Could the deficiency of leadership by coordinators be due to lack any formal business or management background? Is age, gender, and absence of certified analyst graduates be contributing factors for underperformance? If so, what leadership techniques can the coordinators use solve their managerial deficiency issues?
