Power Distance Index Analysis
Regarding to an article by Investopedia, the Power-Distance Index (PDI) is an index developed by Dutch sociologist Geert Hofstede that measures the distribution of power and wealth between people in a nation, business or culture. The power-distance index seeks to demonstrate the extent to which subordinates or ordinary citizens submit to authority.
The power-distance index figure is lower in countries or organizations in which authority figures work closely with those not in authority, and is higher in countries or organizations with a more authoritarian hierarchy.
Power distance refers to the way in which power is distributed and the extent to which the less powerful accept that power is distributed unequally. To be more specific, people in some cultures accept a higher degree of unequally distributed power than do people in other cultures. When in a high power distance culture the relationship between bosses and subordinates is one of dependence. When in a low power distance society the relationship between bosses and subordinates is one of interdependence.

The power distance dimension indicates the degree of equality of the people in the society (Germany). As a result, the low power distance score of Germany shows the equality of people regarding to their position and status. German starts to view people from roles to society, not power and money.
