First, power used negativity does not just affect one person, it affects everybody that is controlled by the power. This is seen when thousands of people are running away from war and corruption in the middle east and africa. “Many are escaping violence, poverty or prosecution.” This suggest that power creates a negative force in rulers of a country. The government of these countries declared war on each other. They declared war on each other because they want more control and power over countries, the more land the more power. Power in the book Invisible Man by Ralph Ellison is used to show how it’s something that does not have to be shown, but know within you of having it. The protagonist of the book carries his character of thinking of himself as having little power and getting clarity of how African Americans are viewed when talking to Dr. Bledsoe. Power is something that should be shown to project ones full potential. Ellison shows pathos, and logos in chapter six as even having power and having the right to make a difference or make decisions if being a person with history of a lower social class, white men will never see you equal.…

Power can make one so greedy that someone will do anything for it and won’t let anyone, or thing stand in their way. Macbeth by William Shakespeare portrays both the positive and negative uses on Power through the main characters. Macbeth’s greed of power allowed him to exercise abuse and ultimately he was corrupted and destroyed by power. Lady Macbeth used power in a positive way but her ultimate goal was domination of the Crown. The quote that caught my eye is the Abraham Lincoln’s quote. The reason it caught my eye is because of his way of saying that if someone is given power it will test their character. I strongly agree with this if someone is given power or given anything that gives them some sort of upper hand than that person tends to abuse it. Power is something that shouldn’t be taken lightly because it changes people. Power can change anyone although it may not show until it happens but power can corrupt anyone or anything.…
