Ivan The Terrible Power Abuse

Throughout the history of the world, power has been given to people like monarchs, dictators, military generals, and even presidents. Like most things some handle the power extremely well while others abuse it. The abuse affects the people of the area and history is changed when the person takes their power to an unfathomable level. Power abuse can be dated back to the beginning of what we can recall. People such as Ivan the Terrible of Russia have had a unfortunate experience with their power. Ivan the Terrible, or Ivan IV, was the first tzar of Russia. During his reign, he introduced church reform and self-government in rural regions. This time was considered his constructive period. His reign of terror began after the death of his first wife. Ivan began displacing noble families of their titles and start abusing his own family. His “madness” left him with the blood of his unborn grandchild and his son on his hands. He also blinded an architect. During this time he created the Oprichniki, the first secret police in Russia. The
It’s addictive and when you get it you will most likely abuse it. Many world leaders have became addicted to this drug and abused it. Probably one of the most famous is Adolf Hitler. Adolf Hitler was born in Austria in 1889. Adolf applied to the German Army during World War I and was accepted. Hitler was appointed chancellor under Hindenburg, Hitler’s predecessor. As chancellor Hitler achieved full power of the legislative and executive branches, he then created the Nazi party. After Hindenburg’s death, Hitler became the head of state and the head of the government. The Nazi provoked the Holocaust, which resulted in death of over six million Jews. Hitler social reforms killed fourteen million people besides the Jews. Hitler’s reign started World War II, which killed millions as well. The power that hitler was given made him an addict.
