3. Cleopatra.
The last Ptolemaic ruler of Egypt. Cleopatra sought to defend Egypt from the expanding Roman Empire. In doing so she formed relationships with 2 of Rome’s most powerful leaders Marc Anthony and Julius Caesar. These relationships have been depicted in Romantic terms, although in reality they may have been political pact.
4. QueenElizabeth I 1533-1603.
Queen of England during a time of great economic and social change. During her reign she witnessed the defeat of the Spanish Armada leaving Britain to later become one of the world’s dominant superpowers. 5. Benazir Bhutto.
Benazir Bhutto was the first female prime minister of a Muslim country. She helped to move Pakistan from a dictatorship to democracy in 1977. She sought to implement social reforms, in particular helping women and the poor. She was forced out of office on corruption charges but she denied all that charges
6. Marilyn Monroe.
Born
