I. INTRODUCTION The study aims to determine whether a significant difference and relationship exist among the practices observe in providing superior assistance to foreign clients, the competence level in proposing excellent tourist attractions, and the compliance level in customer’s support on the subject of accommodation, by Philippine travel agencies.
A. Background of the study
Tourism can be defined as the science, art, and business of attracting visitors, transporting them, accommodating them, and graciously catering to their needs and wants (Goeldner, 2006).
According to Goeldner (2006), for Tourism to be successful, a great variety of components must work together seamlessly to create a positive travel experience. Tourism is a composite of activities, services, and industries that deliver a travel experience: transportation, accommodations, eating and drinking establishments, shops, entertainment, activity facilities, and other hospitality services available for individuals or groups that are travelling away from home. It encompasses all providers of visitor and visitor-related services.
Tourism is well-funded and is allotted significant amount of budget on advertisement and promotion of their destination (Angelo, 1991). Tourism maintains overseas offices with salespersons who call on travel agencies and tour operators to persuade them to promote their destination as assumed by Angelo (1991). In some destinations, Department of Tourism stages or helps fund events such as festivals, golf or tennis tournaments, sailing regattas, and even dog shows.
