Preschool Classroom Observation
Preschool Facility Observation Paper On September 14th, 2015 I observed a classroom at Weslie Way Preschool. The preschool classroom consisted of six students, but only five of them were present on the day that I did my observation. The group consisted of two girls and three boys that were all four years old. Later on in my observation, a firefighter came to talk to the students about fire safety. During this time period, all of the classes in the school gathered together outside. I was able to observe thirty students, all of which were different ethnicities between the ages of two and five. I arrived to the classroom at nine in the morning, just fifteen minutes before the students were expected to be at school. The preschool teacher allowed …show more content…
She had numerous print outs and activities that allowed the students to trace and practice writing the letter with pictures of things that start with the letter E, such as an elephant, an eggplant, and the earth. Student C seemed more interested in the information being taught when the teacher showed the class pictures. It can be assumed that she is a visual learner. Student E responded best when the teacher wrote out the letter several times. He is most likely a kinesthetic learner, because he responding best to her actually writing out the letter as opposed to showing him pictures or making the E sound. Students A, B, and D responded best to the teacher making them repeat words that started with …show more content…
Student C was extremely social and made her peers feel comfortable and accepted. She also seemed willing to learn and interested in what the teacher had to say. In her future academic career, I think she will be great with communication subjects, such as public speaking, English, and history classes. However, she didn’t seem very analytical and depended on her social skills more so than her logical skills, so it can be assumed that she may potentially struggle in areas such as math and science. Student E was incredibly intelligent for his age group and I predict that he will have a very successful academic career. He was able to grasp the letter concept easily and went above and beyond by writing out his entire name. A weakness he may encounter is not being able to effectively communicate. His shyness got the best of him at times and it was obvious that he wanted to play with Students A and B during playtime, but he quickly gave up when he felt the slightest feeling of

The majority of the students were taking notes but when the teacher started hinting about some questions that might be on the next test; everyone started writing what the teacher was saying. For the Infant and Toddler Curriculum class, I was assigned the toddler classroom at Montessori Day School to complete my 24 hours of observation. The classroom had ten children with two teachers. The classroom was divided into four sections by two-shelf bookshelves. There were two tables, large carpets, and small white rugs where the students could take their work to complete. Because Montessori Day School is passionate about the Montessori method, the children do not simply wander the classroom and play with toys. They choose activities that the teachers refer to as “work” to complete. These works help develop the child’s social, emotional, intellectual, and motor skills. The teachers are able to work in groups or provide individualized instruction, so the child can learn at their own pace.…

I set up an appointment with the Kids Club daycare at 9:45 am on November 4th to observe for an hour of toddler classroom who were between three and four years old. The principle gave me a warm greeting and took me to the class and introduced me to the teachers and the children. Everyone there made me feel welcomed. I chose a place where I can sit, observe and write my note as well as to be away from children's sight. In the classroom there were five boys, two girls, and two teachers Ms. Nadia and Ms. Emma. The classroom itself was large and spacious. The classroom is very appropriate for children this age and it has many interesting areas such as a blocks and art area, and children taped some of their previous work in the art area. The color of the class is bright and has interesting posters like calendars with the name of children’s birthdays. Also. There is a toys area that has toys suitable for both boys and girls like cars, animals, and doll. There is a reading area with a little amount of children’s books and stories in reachable…

“In an effective classroom students should not only know what they are doing. They should also know why and how.” Harry Wong is an educational speaker that tries to help teachers be able to not only educate their students, but also teach them how to comprehend and logically think. Even at Tell City Jr.-Sr. High School, there are a variety of different types of teachers; moreover, this affects the atmosphere of their classrooms. Many outsiders may see our school as boring and being the same as any old school. For the students, every single classroom has a different atmosphere that they either love or greatly dislike.…
