The good definition of pride is self-reliance and personal excellence. We cheer when someone does a great job or does something by themselves and it turns out better than we thought. But we don’t want them to get a “big-head” about their success we still want them to be humble about their work. The people have given these types of pride one kind id called “authentic” pride and “hubristic” pride. With these definitions the scientists has proposed that pride is linked with self-esteem. Scientist have been trying to figure out what pride looks like physically. These scientists went around and asked people what they thought pride looked like. All the results showed the pride looked like it displays a small smile (not a grin), a slight head tilt, a puffed up chest and posture, and arms are either akimbo or overhead. Children as young as seven years old recognize this posture as pride. But these scientists want to know what the bad side of Pride is, well it tricks people in giving the person respect he or she hasn’t earned it correctly
