Starting high school can be exciting, but also very new and demanding. To avoid disaster and be successful, there are three things to keep in mind. They are, prioritize tasks, find motivation, and maintain mental health. Learning how to do these three things now, will not only ensure success throughout high school, but in any task one comes upon in everyday life.

High school is full of opportunities, and it can be exciting to try new things. Whether that be going out for a sport or joining a club. To make the process of prioritizing a bit easier, lets break it down into a few steps. First, write down a list of all your tasks. Next, look over the list and identify the level of urgency to each one. When doing this, consider deadlines and difficulty. Finally, assess the value and importance of each task. Ultimately it is important to know when to narrow down interests to most important and drop those that are not. This skill of prioritizing is important, as without it it makes it very difficult to manage time and responsibilities, which affects student …show more content…
Without good mental health, each responsibility and task will suffer from the constant struggle to keep up when stressed and overwhelmed. Some ways to avoid this is by scheduling time for something that one enjoys or finds relaxing. Additionally, find ways to reduce everyday stress, prioritizing as mentioned earlier can be one way to do this. Further, sleep is a critical component to completing tasks, and directly affects the success within them. Use a planner to manage time to ensure that tasks can be completed in time, so one can get a good night's
