Professional Soccer Player
My goal is to become a professional soccer player and once I retire become a sports commentator. A professional soccer player is an athlete who is paid to play for a soccer team at the professional level. Although being a professional soccer player for a job seems like little work, it actually involves a lot of high intensity work. Most teams have mandatory trainings up to 6 times a week, which include very hard workouts most people could not keep up with. Other duties include constantly watching your diet, attending mandatory games across the country, and during off season, hours of excruciating training. On the high end, women professional soccer players can be paid up to $15 per hour and range anywhere between $6,000 and $30,000 per year. …show more content…
I would like to attend Duke, the University of Michigan, or Penn State for my college experience. While still in high school I will attend many college ID camps so that I can experience what it’s like to be coached by a college coach. During my next four years with my Cleveland team, I will continue to showcase my talents, to college coaches, at many show cases across the country. Also during my high school years, I will continue attending weekly personal training in order to become better at all areas of the sport. I will try and help pay for my college education by receiving a scholarship for soccer. In order to get a scholarship, I need to train hard and perform as best as I possibly can at showcases to be offered the best possible …show more content…
During my off season from soccer, I plan to be a sports commentator for ESPN or to open up my own personal training business. This will help me to make more money and allow me to continue to work after I retire from professional soccer. I would like to eventually be asked to commentate for the women’s FIFA world cup. If I do not follow through with my main plan because of injury or loss of interest, I would like to go to college solely for a degree in business and sports education. After graduating from college, I would open up a full time personal training business for soccer teams. There I would be able to teach many young players the game of soccer and help them to perfect their

Thank you for the email! Sorry for the delayed response, I just returned from being out of town for the last week with my family. As I am looking for a college, I am definitely looking for a team that has a family feeling and mentality. I strongly believe that being apart of a team and having fun helps me work harder and perform better in the end. Outside of swimming I like to play piano and spend time with my family and friends. I have three younger siblings who keep me busy. I also like to go skiing in the winter time and occasionally do a puzzle I am in the mood. I am probably more of a movie then book type of girl. I tend to like the book version better then the movie, but its difficult for me to get really into a…

I should be considered for the HEBF scholarship due to my hard work and determination; not just in playing sports, but for improvement. Whether it be soccer, volleyball, or track and field, I have never given up when presented with a challenge. I rather look at it as an opportunity for growth, something that can, not only strengthen my physical skills but my collaborative skills as well. Something that I have learned from participating in sports is coming up with ways to overcome obstacles and to keep trying. That means pushing myself to the limit and overpowering boundaries. The experience from participating in each sport have somewhat in some shape and form, taught me the importance of being a leader and working to together. These skills…

For many students, the college experience is measured by the success of their NCAA-sanctioned athletic programs. Without the experience and athletic performance the student athlete brings, most colleges would not reap the benefit of these significant revenue-generating activities. At best, current NCAA regulations need to be revisited to ensure all avenues are addressed to enable the success of athletic students both in the classroom and on the field or court of play. As stated previously, even though students receive full and partial scholarships determined by their athletic performance, in both instances financial hardship is still experienced by many. Since the various professional sports’ programs reap the conditioning and experience of college student athletes, sponsorship initiatives should be pursued to allow student athletes some form of payment without creating additional outlays for colleges and universities.…

Recently I was voted MIA ambassador of Peabody Veterans Memorial High School along with Ben Manoogian. We went for an interview at PAT and got interviewed the superintendent. We spoke about the new turf field, how to be a good effective leader, and about our soccer seasons thus far. After the interview Mr. Buckley drove us back to the school, and he was speaking to us about the great opportunities we have at Peabody Veterans Memorial High School. Although I hear those words often I never really listen. Mr. Buckely said, “Ben and Katrina you guys are great leaders and great soccer players, but remember you will not always be playing soccer. After college soccer will probably end for you. So take advantage of your education. You are a student before you are an athlete.” He went on to tell us his experiences, and how him dedicating himself to his schoolwork put him in the successful position he is in today.…

Aside from medicine, I have a deep passion for soccer. I grew up playing soccer with my friends in the streets of Lebanon where regardless of one’s religion, socioeconomic status, or education level everyone has one thing in common: their passion for soccer. As a junior in high school, I developed a proposal to my school board with the purpose of establishing a team at our school and playing organized tournaments with other local schools. Through this sport, I learned the essence of teamwork and collaboration. Being the captain of the soccer team highlighted the importance of effective communication and positive vibes between the whole team. My self-esteem increased as I developed my listening skills and became a leader everyone can confidently rely on.…

First off I want to give you a general idea of the rules and regulations. Professional soccer is played with 11 players from each team on the field at once, including a goalie. There are no time outs and no commercial breaks during a game. The duration of a game is 90 minutes, with 45 minute halves, and a 15 minute halftime. In addition, although this applies to every soccer player, professional or amateur you must not touch the ball with your hands, from your fingertips, all the way up to your shoulders. And you must wear cleats and shin guards while you’re playing. These are some essential guidelines of soccer but there are many more.…

From past to present, sports have played a widely significant role in our history. Sports bring our communities together and offer fame to the athletes. Professional sports have been looked upon as a place of glory. From prestigious awards to high salaries, being a professional athlete is something most athletes dream of, but only a handful achieve. Growing up, many young children aspire to be professional athletes and strive to play even college sports someday. In recent years, athletics have been looked upon as equally, if not more, important than school itself. Many athletes sacrifice school in order to be successful because the draw, competition, and demand for athletes has dramatically grown. This has lead to a smaller margin of athletes to become professional. It is a mad race of talent, hard work, and perseverance. This has resulted in professional teams draft players in college and sometimes even in high school. Athletes leaving their education early to play sports professionally should not be limited or cut off because of the many benefits of going professional earlier.…
