There are many solutions that can be done here to help the homeless in our communities. A major solution can be brought by this idea is volunteering at the local shelter. People everyday volunteer or join an organization for a cause to help someone out that is in more need than themselves. Ask anyone who ever volunteered for for organization and see what they say. It makes the people feel better about themselves everytime they help out a person in need by volunteering at the shelters. According to The National Coalition for the Homeless website “Making eye contact and saying a few words or smiling can reaffirm the humanity of a person if they are homelessness and seems to strip away the thoughts of being homeless.” (National Coalition for the …show more content…
Most are afraid to give money to the homeless because they think it is going towards something bad. Helping someone out that is in need will surely keep them from doing things that there are not supposed to do. With the time of help they will be busy and not be doing any trouble to no one or themselves. Just remember Giving is a good idea “When you donate money, focus on local organizations. Large, national organizations that spend a lot of their money on advocacy but relatively little on actually helping people, especially in your area.”(wikihow.com). So think about giving to the homeless and you make someone's day.
Why do people got to be so greedy and not want to help out anyone. Helping the homeless is a good thing to do. Why not just come one and help out them out as much as possible. Today people spend more time that and money on themselves and think they are above the homeless and everyone else. So help out the major organizations and your be better

Only people who support the case will give their money, which will make them happy and of course the homeless people, plus you don’t have the pain of everyone who is not in favor. This goes hand in hand with the term ‘supererogatory’. It means that charity is morally good, but it shouldn’t be required by law. The money for the homeless shelter should come from people who want to give it, not from someone who has to give it. It would maybe also make the homeless feel better if they know they are not a burden for anyone, since the help they get is by free choice. Another advantage would be that you don’t have the issue of people getting mad at the homeless. It is imaginable that if you force people to give money, they let their anger out on the only people they know to put it on - the homeless, which would create tension in the…

Using a long piece of wire, I would hang an empty egg carton to a tree or pole in a city with a large rate of homelessness. I would then hang a bucket directly under the egg carton. Lastly, I would stick a bumper sticker reading "Homeless Helper" on the front of the carton. Inside the carton, people would be free to place business cards, flyers for relatively…

Elise Elliott's opinion piece published in the Herald Sun addresses the issue of homelessness. Titled 'Let's bring a little warmth to the homeless,' Elliott communicates the importance of being aware of homeless situations and the help that the homeless require, to the residents of Melbourne. Throughout the article, she builds on the idea that homeless people are normal people too, wanting the audience to understand that and to take action to help people just like themselves. Elliott begins and ends with a light, encouraging tone which shifts into a more serious and heavier tone in the bulk of the article.…

For those who are worthy of help, we can encourage them to work. A brilliant idea that I found is created by Christopher Awalt. He said: “Offer him a hard day's work for an honest wage, and see if he accepts. If he does, tell him you'll pay weekly, so that he will have to work for an entire week before he sees any money. If he still accepts, offer a permanent job, with taxes withheld and the whole shebang. If he accepts again, hire him.” This idea can motivate the homeless and guide them to go back to the normal life. Moreover, the people who cannot offer a job for a homeless, we need to respect them and we can give them some food or some books. Knowledge is powerful, if we give them some inspirational books, they might regain the confidence and come back to the normal life.…

Everyday when I am driving to college, I see homeless people on the side of the road and I can't help wondering if there is any way I could help them out. Housing First is a program solely dedicated to giving chronically homeless and homeless citizens a home first, although this program is mainly intended for chronically homeless citizens it can also be used by homeless citizens. Chronically homeless citizens have been living on the streets for more than a year, and homeless citizens have been living on the streets for less than a year. Once they are settled in their case manager they were assigned, help them focus on getting a job or rehabilitation if needed. The program also reduces the amount of money the state spends on chronically homeless…

Homeless people all around the world are starving and nobody is doing anything about it. Homelessness is defined as a person who "lacks a fixed, regular, and adequate night-time residence." (Cite)They are starving because of the poverty in the world, the whole world's population as we know it, and community's pretending not to see it happening . Poverty is a big thing that affects homelessness in the U.S (cite) . The population increases every day and that makes the world more populated and creates more homeless people. The community pretends that they do not see people and just let them die right in their faces Worldwide, homelessness is caused by a breakdown in traditional family support systems, continued urbanization, the effects of structural adjustment programs, civil wars, and natural disasters. I come from a fairly large city in California so I’ve been around many homeless people throughout my life. I’ve had good and bad experiences when it comes to being around them and dealing with them. My initial view of the homeless is that they are somewhat lazy and that a lot of them are on drugs. I feel this way because I’ve seen and dealt with so many sick, obnoxious people on the streets aggressively asking for money. I always think to myself, if I were in that situation I would find a way. There are so many resources that help people get back on their feet. Instead of begging on the streets, I would go get help. Instead of asking for money, I would ask for help from one of the many organizations so I can find a job and make my own money. However, there is another side of me that is extremely empathetic. This side of me knows that something sad and unfortunate must have happened to these people and that this life isn’t their choice. For example, children that are born into homeless families, people with mental illnesses, and of course people who have been laid off of work.…

Whenever I walked down the street and see a homeless individual, I do nothing. I can’t really spare change because I use the money I have getting to and paying for school. But I also feel like there’s a bystander effect I think that someone will eventually help, mostly the government. I also feel like homelessness is a really big issue for me to tackle alone. So to answer this question, well I don’t really have an answer, but in my opinion the first step would be to have the willingness to take that first step which is to recognize the homelessness and housing is a problem, I also need to become more educated especially since I never really thought about homelessness and poor quality…

Many of the homeless suffer from different sicknesses. These people cannot afford or even get the medical care the need. In 2010, 26% of the homeless suffered from mental illnesses, and 35% from substance abuse. Unfortunately it is not only the sick seeking help. Many homeless in cities need help but don't know where to find it. We need to bring more awareness and support our homeless shelters, Linda Lingle once said, "We have become dangerously close to accepting the homeless situation as a problem we can't solve."…
