For most of the movie natural lighting is used considering over half of the movie is shot outside. While the sun may cause there to be glares when shots are taken, they normally use special lenses to help with adjusting to the light allowing for a clearer picture. The natural lighting suggests that the movie is more realistic in most aspects. However, there are few scenes that were shot at night to where there were not any available natural lighting so other techniques were used. Lighting such as flares, fires, car lights and flashlights functioned as lighting during the night. While these lights did not offer as clear of a picture as the natural lighting it helped set the mood for their atmosphere, in which this case was war. The types of lighting used in this movie helped establish the realistic…

The lighting was also used to accentuate depressing or joyful moments, making it dimmer when it was a dark moment and making it bright when they were sitting outside to show a sunny day. An example of excellent lighting was when Bill was in the club and how the back was like a dance floor and he was at the bar where it was brighter and when they used two different types of lighting on the same stage which made it look realistic. The lighting overall made my experience multiple times better than it already was because I was in…
There have been many arguments worldwide about officers enforced to wear body cameras. Wearing body cameras does not stop violence against officers or civilians. There are some concerns for the civilians that are being tapes as well. Officers wearing body cameras on duty still make bad choices, even the civilians. It may limit the violence but it will not stop it. There are many concerns that you have to think about like privacy implications, assault against officers and how it will not stop the violence. Body cameras are not a solution to our problem. We need more than little cameras hanging on a shirt.…
just a general wash and nothing else. I think if there was a variety of different types of lights the play would have been more interesting. Although there was one lighting effect that I loved, when the light bulbs starting flashing along the perimeter of the stage I was surprised…
It makes the narrative more risky as the movie starts to get into the main idea of the story. Most of the action goes along with the setting of the movie. The setting of the movie help brings out the fear and/or determination of the characters. Many of the actions gives the audience an outlook of how the character is characterized. For an example, the main character is Katniss Everden, she is the most fierced character in the movie. Katniss actions shows how motivated she is to fight for her village and family. Even though she is a bit scared she doesn’t give up or put her self in a failig position. Through out the different settings in the movie, Katniss actions goes well with each scene showing how motivated she is to get through the…

In this scholarly article, Haden introduces his views on the exploitation and unfair compensation of student-athletes by the NCAA. Student-athletes receive absolutely no monetary compensation whatsoever; Hayden proposes a solution to this issue. Haden makes an excellent case stating, “each division I university incorporate “laundry money” into the scholarships of all their student-athletes” (680). The article explains that the best way to compensate student-athletes is to incorporate the use of laundry money into the student-athletes scholarship packages. By doing so, there are not any complications with NCAA rules and regulations therefore, making his article extremely beneficial to my topic. Haden’s views and proposed solution is very helpful for my topic because it has not appeared in any other text I have read. For this reason, he has helped me better understand my issue while also supporting the idea that student-athletes should be compensated for all of their time and effort dedicated to the…
I honestly believe that police officers should wear body cameras during their shift. There are a couple of pros and cons to wearing body cameras, but I still think it is necessary. Wearing body cameras can prevent violence, provide accountability, and improve the public’s view of policing by showing the human side. Body cameras can sometimes be seen as an invasion of privacy. Officers may also feel as if there are limitations to what they can and cannot do, but they should not feel that way if they are not doing anything wrong in the first place. There has been at least five hundred and fifty people killed by an officer not wearing a body camera.…
In light of recent events, tensions amongst American communities and police officers have heightened due to the shootings of unarmed civilians and the alleged use of excessive force. These events have brought the integrity of police officers into question raising the question onto whether or not police officers should wear body cameras. This would serve to improve public relations with the local communities and provide a new source of indisputable hard evidence. Unfortunately, everything also comes with its disadvantages and while the benefits of body cameras do outweigh the negatives on paper, they may still not be enough to result in wide scale implementation. Such disadvantages include cost, as the cost of a single body camera ranges from $400 to $700 (Taser International Inc.) The reliability of these cameras may also be called into question as technological bugs are inevitable. According to research conducted by PERF and the COPS office, officers should be required to activate their cameras when responding to calls meaning that they are turned off while on duty. This may allow a police officer to tamper with evidence or to manipulate the cameras as they are in total control. Body cameras may be a potential solution for a growing problem, and while there seem to be an abundance of benefits, many drawbacks do also question the viability of such a project.…
For instance, in the scene where Cheech goes to the Lazy River, the lighting effects made the audience feel as if they were looking into the murky water. The cool colors of blue and gray gave the scene a dark and eerie mood. Lighting was also effective during the night club scenes in that it provided a feeling of temptation and lust. I think that it is important to note that the backdrop for this musical was very simple; therefore, the lighting is what made each scene realistic. In response to costumes, they were very 1929 New York like with some modern style.…
Most people think photojournalism is such an easy career, most people just think you just have to press a button and done, but one doesn’t know how hard it is for one to take the perfect picture that captures the story you want to tell. The photograph that one takes needs to be extremely detail that…
I was quick appreciate one of the cinematography tips that used in the movie. I noticed that in the movie, the light design in most of the scene is gray, lifeless. For example dullish canteen and gloomy city. The scene transition was surrounded through this type of background which create a visual effect. At the first glance of the scene, it…
With the gaining popularity of many different types of movie genres, Action movies are rising up as well because there are many actors and directors. There are many characteristics that define an action movie and how it should be made. While looking at the movie posters I found some similar features between all three. While looking at the photos I further saw the reasoning behind the similarities. At the end I figured out if the same features are in all other action movies.…
In creating any film production a critical choice must be made whether to film on location or in a studio. This can usually depend on what type of production you are producing, for example documentaries are most commonly filmed on location as they are telling the audience fact and not creating fiction. This is the same for sci-fi films as they are created to be on other planets or in places that are not existent the creators have no choice but to create a set on their vision. Filming in a studio and on locations both have their possibilities and constraints and depending on what type of production and what sort of budget you are working with can have an effect on where you shoot.…
