If you were in Canada or the USA and there was a declared terrorist attack on either one of your home countries, and someone knew where they were and how much longer it would be before they went off but they wouldn’t budge wouldn’t you validate torturing just one person over killing millions of people? Torture is all about the perspective you look at it from. If you are putting millions in danger to to torture 1 human being, are morally right?
Considering the following two articles: Krauthmammer, “The Truth About Torture: It’s Time to be Honest About doing a Terrible Thing” and Sullivan’s response: “The Abolition of Torture.” Krauthmammer has clearly demonstrated more of a compelling agreement using complex and different perspective examples. All in all in a liberal democratic society such as Canada or USA, having the power to resort to torture is fair if they are receiving valuable information in return, protect the majority of the population who are innocent and have explored all other options before
