Society teaches continual domestic violence especially in Hispanic families and communities. For example, The Day it Happened is mostly about a young Hispanic woman that is married to a Hispanic man who continuously abuses her. Because of this type of abuse, there must be some type of common ill-treating of couples done by their husbands. The best way to get out of this type of exploitation is to make a decision to leave or to find counseling.
Secondly, in order to escape from abuse, an individual must make a decision on what is best for him/her in order to be happy. Even in marriages today, there are disagreements and major obstacles that couples face; however, there are always solutions even if it means leaving.
