Egyptian Proverbs
“A beautiful thing is never perfect.”
Nothing is perfect, everything has it’s flaws. “A man's ruin lies in his tongue.”
A person can be destroyed by what he says. “Be patient with a bad neighbor: he may move or face misfortune.”
Bare with negativity, it will come to an end. “Because we focused on the snake, we missed the scorpion.”
Even when you’re dealing with something in your life, you still need to pay attention to other things “If there were no fault, there would be no pardon.” if you had no mistakes, you wouldn’t be able to learn from it. “Learn politeness from the impolite.”
Learn from other people’s mistakes. “Pride goes before a fall.”
If you are too conceited or selfcentered, something will happen to make you look foolish. “Run as hard as a wild beast if you will, but you won't get any reward greater than that destined for you.” Try as you might, some things you can’t do. “The barking of a dog does not disturb the man on a camel.”
The higher you are, the less you care about others. “The tyrant is only the slave turned inside out.” (tyrant: a cruel and oppressive ruler)
If you are high in rank, it doesn’t mean that you are high in respect. “When the angels present themselves, the devils abscond.” (abscond: leave hurriedly and secretly)
When there are good people
If you present the good in yourself, then the bad in you and other people disappear.
