SC completed home visit with DCW and Pa on 12/23/2015. Prior to pa’s daughter Pamela answering the door; SC was outside knocking for about 10-15 minutes. SC took that time to scope the premises for Pa’s elevator lift that was supposed to have been installed based on report from pa’s POA/DOC/granddaughter a few weeks ago. SC walked along the side of the house to the back of and there SC did not observe a wheelchair lift on the property. SC went to knock on the door again when someone opened the door. SC asked if Pamela was there and the person at the door identified herself as Pamela; SC did not immediately recognized Pamela because her hair and physique was different than the last visit a few months ago. Pamela was under the impression that…
Often times the type of messages transmitted trough marketing efforts have the intended target of a certain group. While thinking about this assignment, the commercial that stuck out in my mind was the recent T-Mobile commercials. I am sure that there are tons of other commercials that contain the different theories of motivation in them but the T-Mobile one catches my attention more than others because I am looking to switch phone carriers.…
They provide services so the kids are able to live out their dreams. The ability to make their dreams come true completely changes the attitudes of the ill children, and inspires them to keep fighting and to never give up. Before this I had very little knowledge about this organization and all the amazing things it has accomplished. Now I know how important it is to the lives of children and people all over the United States. There is nothing better than knowing you helped put a huge smile on a child who was so close to giving up and inspiring them to keep up the fight and anything can become a…
Lady Capulet tends to believe everything Juliet tells her without ever doubting her true intentions. We can see that she cares about Juliet’s emotions and wants to guide her in the right direction, we can see this when she directly asks her daughter “What say you?/Can you love the gentleman?” (1.3 85-86) At the time this would be very unusual, arranged marriages are very common, and the brides have no say in the matter. However, Lady Capulet takes the liberty to ask Juliet anyways. In response, Juliet says “I’ll look to like, if looking liking move./ But no more deep will I endart mine eye/ than your consent give strength to make it fly.” (1.3 103-105) which has a double meaning. Lady Capulet thinks this means that Juliet will try to like…
Before the ACA, students that did not have health insurance could obtain it from their college or university. As plans vary from school to school and benefits restricted for particular plans, many students were not entirely protected leaving them vulnerable to unexpected medical expenses. The current proposed rule has provided individuals with an equal opportunity improving health insurance protection for students. These students would have the protection of all the benefits that offered under the new consumer protections, which allows them to perceive their plan and its coverage as well as their rights. Now, the ACA gives students the freedom and opportunity as other consumers to purchase insurance with the same protection outlined in the Patient’s Bill of Rights (Centers for Medicare and Medicaid, 2011). The current regulations help the students to buy and maintain their coverage.…
I believe that PSAs are beneficial to whoever are watching them. The first and final reason why I believe that PSAs are beneficial because they change the young kids or teen's minds about drinking while driving or about smoking.…
Getting to communicate with the people in the society, helps me improve as a student and a person. It will also help me grow as a public administrator because it teaches me how I can improve my community. The organization showed me how the grant is made. The government gives them some money, and they also receive donations from places like Wholes food, Prudential, and other…
The main aims of public health are to improve the health of the nation, this has many benefits as it reduces the amount of illness and disease in the population, reduces the cost of healthcare provision to the NHS, it improves life expectancy, and also educates individuals to take responsibility for their health. Another aim of public health is to reduce health inequalities, this is done by targeting those who are vulnerable and ensuring that equal/improved access to health support is provided, and also that factors that affect health are identified and addressed.…
Advertisements are meant to bring awareness to people, incite reactions and in many cases make us feel like we need something so that we will want it enough to buy it. They are used for a variety of things are seen on billboards and television, in magazines and newspapers, storefronts, the radio, etc. so they are a big part of our daily lives whether we notice them or not. The claim or evidence behind the advertisement is sometimes misplaced and represent the wrong things to our youth. In doing so images are represent the norm and cause children and young adults to feel as if they have to appear the way they see people in the advertisements.…

Moreover, community services can help for your future. Some students may even be interested in a career through doing the jobs. A few months ago, my friends and I went to do the volunteer that helped the campaign team to canvass. During the campaign, we had to distribute flyers and sort different flyers into envelopes. We encouraged them to join the campaign and hope that they can vote for our team, Progressive Conservative. While in the canvassing, we had to communicate with people. It demonstrates excellent organization, communication and good team spirit. People can use previous experiences in the future as they have obtained on the job. Therefore, there are many knowledge can be learnt from doing the community services.…
One PSA (Public Service Announcement), that immediately comes to mind, as to being very good is the, “This is your brain on drugs” PSA from the campaign by, Partnership for a Drug-Free America in 1987 (Blistein, 2014). When I first saw this PSA, I was already five years sober. That said, alcohol was my ‘drug of choice’ (problem area), not typical drugs. Still, this PSA scared me to death. I have never forgotten it. I tried to find an article regarding perceived attitudes and drugs before seeing a PSA. Since I already was afraid of drugs and already sober, the PSA had more of an impact, in other words, I already had an established frame of mind or attitude, so seeing this aligned with what I already believed. [If that makes sense]. I believe this might contribute to why I think it is good or effective. Showing the fried egg, is something I that I had learned that drugs do, ‘drugs will fry your brain’ is something I believed. In fact, it is a phrase that I have used and still use to this day. In addition, showing a visual and using fear to evoke others to come on board with the idea is not new. For example, my example for a PSA that is not so good, is the gal who must talk through the hole in her throat. I think this PSA goes overboard, in other words, it shows too much reality. Perhaps, the audio when have been enough. I know so many others that have turned the channel when this was…
Community Service is important for many reasons. Taking part and volunteering teaches compassion and understanding. One of my favorite things about community service is that there are opportunities and choices everywhere! You can volunteer for something you really believe and have an interest in, and can volunteer as much or as little as you 'd like or have time for.…
Public health has the interests of the public at its core. According to the Department of Health (DoH) (2012) Public health is concerned with prevention and therefore encourages people to ‘stay healthy’ and ‘avoid getting ill’.…
