Health and Psychology HCA/250
It is a fact that the way we live and our life choices affect our health. The way we live or our lifestyles, personal relationships, our histories, our personalities, and our mental and biological processes are all factors in relation to health psychology. and behavior influence health and illness.
Although we are able to make our own lifestyle choices does not mean we are making the right ones. The choices we make and the way we treat our bodies not only affects our personal health but also our mental health. These health concerns can be carried over to the workplace causing unwanted stress in an environment that is already somewhat stressful. With the daily tasks that our jobs require of us added stress can make the job that much more difficult. Lack of sleep making it hard to concentrate on the talks at hand, irritated with other employees, and just plain unable to do what is required of us. An unhealthy diet can make us sick and unable to complete the job needing done and mental stress on top of a possibly already stressful job can cause even more health problems physically.
Lifestyle choices that enhance health and prevent illness are easy to come by.
By making health y lifestyle choices we reduce the risk of chronic disease and premature death. This is all depends on how much sleep we get, what we eat or drink, how much exercise we get, and our mental status. Getting the right amount of sleep is important to give our bodies the chance to restore and regenerate. Without an adequate amount of sleep, we experience irritability, loss of concentration, and loss of sleep can cause more serious health problems. Eating right gives our bodies energy, reduces risks of certain diseases, and helps the body maintain a healthy weight. What we eat and when we eat such as a healthy breakfast or a sugary breakfast makes a big difference when beginning our day. Regular physical activity reduces heart disease and reduces bone loss. We feel better, look better, and live longer when we add exercise to our daily routine. Then there is the most controllable lifestyle choice that can change the way we live and how long we live. This choice is cigarettes, drugs, and alcohol. By taking these very unhealthy lifestyle choices out of our lives, we not only reduce the risk of certain death we also live longer and
healthier.
There are many choices we can make to better our mind, body, and spiritual health. Although there are doctors to help fix many of our ailments, it is the little things we can do ourselves to give these health care professionals and the health care system a break.
