Sit-ins
A form of protest which people will occupy a place and then refusing to leave until their demands are met.
An example of this would be the sit-ins that took place in the universities in 2012 about tuition fees rising. The students took camp in buildings inside the university. The police surround protesters and prevent them from leaving.
Protests or demonstrations
A person or a group of people who publicly demonstrates opposition to something so they will march through city streets until n
An example of this is when people started protesting about UK armed forces going to Afghanistan and trying to stop them going. On September 23, 2006, thousands of people marched in Manchester against the presence of UK troops in Iraq and Afghanistan. The police service was just there during the protest to keep it under control.
Meetings
This is when a group of people will come together to discuss a matter which is causing problems
An example of this would be when Mps had a meeting about holiday companies raising the price during school holidays. The public services don’t get involved with this response as it is only a meeting.
Terrorism
Terrorism is the use of violence and threats to intimidate for political purposes
An example of this would be the 1996 Manchester bombing, the bomb caused lots of damage and casualties so the fire and ambulance service had to deal with it can care to each person making sure no person died.
Civil Disobedience
Civil disobedience is where you actively refusal to obey certain laws, demands or commands of a government
An example of this would be in 1990 where people were refusing to pay taxes as t was an anti-poll tax campaign, the police service had to sand down as they lost and the government was made
