Punchout Case Study
Question: “What is Punchout?” I have heard people talk about it, but I guess I don’t really know what it is”. Answer: PunchOut (or RoundTrip) is a virtual shopping experience. PunchOut allows a buyer to access Motionindustries.com, be automatically logged in, search the catalog and build a shopping cart—then return that cart as a pending purchase order to the buyer’s procurement system. Orders are then issued from the buyer’s procurement system and may be sent via EDI, CXML, Email or any other method that Motion Industries receives orders. There are three key elements to the PunchOut shopping experience:
Customer Dashboard. This is the first page shown to a buyer when they access Motion Industries using PunchOut.

The shopping cart shows the items and the quantity selected. For PunchOut, the checkout process builds a list of the items in the shopping cart and sends that list to the buyer’s procurement system. Requests for quotes are sent to the Motion Industries order processing system where a customer service representative will respond with pricing.

Question: “What is the difference between using Punchout and just simply shopping directly at MotionIndustries.com?”
Answer: The key difference between shopping directly on the motionindustries.com website and using PunchOut is where the shopping cart is sent during checkout. With direct motionindustries.com website shopping, an order is created in the Motion Industries order tracking system. With PunchOut, the shopping cart is sent back to the buyer’s procurement system. An order may then be created by the buyer’s procurement system.

Question: “Our Customer asked us to send them an e-quote or quote to their

Where did it go?
Answer: “Once the user has brought the quote back into their purchasing system, the quote is closed at the branch automatically. If the branch needs the quote again, they will need to make a copy and save it.

Question: “My Customer said he sent us a request for quote through his PunchOut?” “Where can I find this in eCOS?”
Answer: The quote request will be in the unprocessed area of eCOS.
Note: all electronic orders and quote requests will appear in your unprocessed screen. Please make sure you and your branch monitor this screen.

Question: “My Customer uses PunchOut and contacted me because he can’t see his account, what should I tell him?”
Answer: If a user cannot see their account in Punchout, please email ECSupport@motion-ind.com with the correct branch and account number. Also include the user’s contact information so we may verify everything is set up properly.

Question: “What happens after I send the quote to the Customer?”
Answer: Once the Customer has completed the punchout process, the shopping cart (or quote) goes back into their purchasing system. The Customer can choose to turn it into an order on his side and send to Motion Industries from their purchasing

I believe every person was born the same. You should not discriminate against African Americans because they have a darker skin color. I don't believe having us to do your work is fair. I don't think you would want us to push you around and tell you what to do while we sit around. We all needed to be treated equal. I hate that people can throw us around, tell us what to do, and get away with it. Slave owners do not provide us with proper education. They beat us with whips and other things. They give us little to no money. I don't think slave owners need to be nicer, or give us more money. I think slavery should stop.…
