An important human trait that sets us apart from other creatures of the animal kingdom is the brain. Human beings do not have the largest brain in the world, or even the largest brain relative to body size, yet our ability to think and reason goes beyond any other species on the earth. This is proven by humanities achievements in areas such as art, language and science. Humanity’s superior intelligence allows for a greater understanding of the world around us and therefore better understanding of purpose. A life’s purpose has to do with who you are at your core, what you are here to learn and what you are able to give. However, the ability to recognize these things will be dependent on intelligence. As such, humans should have the greatest potential of knowing what their purpose is. The purpose of human life cannot be the same as other creatures simply because of our greater intelligence and higher understanding. How can one compare an insect’s understanding of purpose to a human’s? An insect is not capable of reasoning why something is done or used. Therefore the purpose of an insect is different from a human’s because human intelligence allows for the ability of each person to define their own purpose.
There are qualities humans possess that make us unique among all other creatures with life. These qualities give humans a purpose that other animals cannot possess. For instance, the awareness of death that is present in humans cannot be
