Analyzing information and finding the solution is my personal satisfaction go juice! Started out as an electronic technician solving problems on electronic devices and systems for the US Coast Guard. That expanded to computer hardware problem repair and service support. As I moved up in authority and position in my career, I turned my problem-solving abilities to process and service improvement of departments and organizational units. Once completed, my next phase will be to complete a Masters in Computer Information Systems or Information Assurance & Cybersecurity but I will need to identify additional finical aid. If this is still feasible, a critical selection of undergraduate course will need to be complete if pursuing the Master in IA & C. Social goals have been put on hold since starting school and working part time. Socializing is something I really enjoy, but time has been a premium. For distant family and friends' interactions has been limited to phone and e-mails. Thankfully I have my wife and kids living with me for some social interaction on a regular basis. I need to get back into interacting with former coworkers and further strengthen my professional and personal network. Personally, I need to get back into community service again. I had been active in multiple areas around the country and really enjoyed the personal satisfaction of helping others. It is an activity that builds character and empathy for others. Since birth they’ve known they wanted to be a teacher, businessmen or women, lawyers, etc. However amongst those overly prepared students there is another population that quite honestly has no idea as to what their profession will be. Throughout my collegiate career I would have considered myself part of the students that had their ten-year plan figured out, but realistically I wasn’t.…

Is it smart to set goals before college? ‘‘About half of all students who start college don’t finish. Roughly one quarter of freshmen drop out before sophomore year,’’ according to Career Prep Academy. Twenty-five percent of freshmen’s in college drop out before their next year in college. Students drop out for many reasons and one of these being not setting goals for themselves, many students might believe that setting goals is creating a path to failure and unrealistic dreams, but in contrast setting goals helps students stay on the path to completing college. By setting goals and measuring their achievements, students are able to see what they have done and what they are capable of, it helps them to stay focused on their path by guiding them on what they ought to achieve in life. As a high school student there’s a lot of work and event’s going on. Whenever someone says “so what are you doing after high school”? I always say I don’t know. Sometimes it helps me to think what I don’t want to do and it narrows it down for me. My dad has been in the fire department for 30 years and he’s always saying I should follow in his footsteps. I would love to commit to a job like everyone else, but I feel like once I get older my mind will change. My post-secondary goals are still unclear, but not because I don’t know what to do. It seems like there are a lot of careers I would fit into and would excel at. So why would I commit to one now. By the end of high school, I will pursue a career and I can see if I like it or not. I have spent my whole childhood thinking about playing college football but I don’t really see a…

There are several fundamental reasons why students all over the world choose to pursue higher education: to broaden their knowledge base, to achieve financial independence, and to be a part of an environment that fosters personal growth. I truly believe that the best way to accomplish these three goals is to fully immerse oneself in a stimulating environment, where there is an abundance of opportunities to grow both during and after college. I am currently a second-year student at Northern Virginia Community College (NOVA), and I spent my first year of post-secondary education at the Community College of Baltimore County (CCBC). I am highly interested in pursuing a Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, but my current institution only offers…

I’m going to talk about going back to school farthing my education. From the time i graduated from high school i always want to go back to school. I never took the time to do so. I would always look into going back to school or talk about going back to school but never took the time to go. Until one day I started working in child care and that moated me to go even more. Going back to school was hard for me because i looked at it as if I didn't have any money to go to school. I over came all that and went on line to apply for school, and now I am attending Ashford University College. I am going for my Associates in Early Child Hood. Therefore, returning back to school to complete my degree after 7 years was very rational and thinking it out it me and my husband that it was time. We are sometime told that experience is the key to get the perfect job, but I disagree with that, have a degree in that field will help you in and getting that opportunity from a manager or boss will landed you that perfect job. But in years in the workforce I have learned that is not always the case. Employers will sometime use the fact that you don’t have a degree against you and after miss some jobs I really want I refuse to let this happen to me every again. I want from this day forward to be armed with everything that the next candidates have and so I can feel that I belong with them. Today’s workforce is forever growing and in order to land that big jobs or promotion you must be able to compete with other and have extra special things that make you stand out. Experience is very important almost key in some cases, but in my opinion having a college degree will help and will make you very marketable and wanted. Sometimes have a degree or other credential will set you apart from all the other candidates and most of the times that will work in you advantage to…
