Phobias
Individuals struggle with phobias and addictions and some never seek help to overcome these issues. Knowing how to cope with these issues can bring a new light for a positive change. In countless ways, individuals who understand how he or she moved in the direction of acquiring a phobia or addiction can reach the healing process easier than others. These methods were famous, and studied by many to better understand how classical conditioning and operant condition has helped many in the success of overcoming his or her phobia or addiction.
Classical conditioning is when learning proceeds to take place when an original stimulus manifest to a conditioned response due to the association with an unconditioned stimulus (APA.com). I took my puppy to the vet for the first time for his first dose of vaccinations. The vet came in with a needle and my puppy whined when the vet gave him the vaccination. The second time we went for his second dose of vaccinations, the puppy saw the vet come in with the needle and my puppy became scared and hid behind me. When my puppy saw the needle, he remembered that it hurt the last time, this in turn caused fear and triggered a fear for needles.

As we walked the trails, where many families had walked before, my sister stopped to see a field of cacti. Suddenly, out of nowhere, a snake came around the field of cacti. My sister’s response, known as the UCS (the unconditioned
