Qualities Of A Survivor

H: There are many ways a person can be a survivor, for example beating cancer or by escaping a war stricken country. These examples make you ask what are the qualities of a survivor? B: In the texts "The Most Dangerous Game", "My Escape from North Korea", and "Trapped", the characters, Rainsford, Hyeonseo Lee, and Aron Ralston, all showed different but equally important survival traits that helped them survive their life threatening situations. TH: These characters demonstrated the qualities of bravery, perseverance, and intelligence in order to now be called a survivor. Her first example of perseverance was shown E: ”When her family got thrown in jail, she went back and forth between the police and immigration office, pleading with them to let her family out" (P.2). A: Her determination to keep going back to the jail and immigration facilities eventually led to the survival and release of her family. Many people would have given up when they didn’t get what they wanted the first time and would not have shown the determination to have their family survive. Also, in "My Escape from North Korea" Lee states E: ”I had to somehow guide them through more than 2,000 miles in China and Asia...we were almost caught three times" (P.2). A: Lee continued to persevere to get her family to freedom safely and was the main reason they made it out alive. Perseverance helped Lee because instead of giving up at the first hardship, she pushed on and helped her family escape from North Korea.
