Racism is one of the world’s major issues today. Not many people are aware of how much racism exists in our schools workforces, and anywhere else where social lives are occurring. It is obvious that racism is bad as it was many years ago but it sure has not gone away. Racism very much exists and it is about time that people need to start thinking about the influence and solutions to this matter. Many people believe that it depends on if a person was brought into the world as a racist or not but that is not the case at all. In fact, an individual cannot be born a racist but only learn to become one as they grow from child to adult. For example (Nathan Place) “I can’t hire you because you’re black,” (Jamilah DaCosta, 25), said she heard when she applied for a job working the counter at the cozy French bake shop. This happened at at the Framboise Patisserie in Middle Village, Queens, the pastries are elegant, the cakes are custom-made — and city officials say the hiring is discriminatory. Racial discrimination happens when someone is treated less fairly because of their race of various reasons; color, descent, national origin or ethnic origin. It could be a very small instance or a large scale one and most people will just ignore what they see. Today discrimination can occur in the hiring or recruiting of jobs, provision of customer and even in the workplace of a company. For examples in most jobs there are certain guidelines and rule to go by in the performing of the job so therefore it is expected for everyone to follow those rules in the workplace. If there are different ways to going about on certain workers and guidelines are not followed then that is an example of decimation towards workers. Everyone must be treated equally and everyone should be disciplined accordingly to the rules and guidelines. This is considered corrupt and illegal but this happens daily in some workplaces.
