That being said, some will see the headline of this article and assume I am just jumping into the argument with the similar mindset and ambitions of every of other black American. Let me say now I am not; however, that is not to say I don’t align with some of those ambitions and ways of thinking. For example, institutional racism is a real thing. Throughout our nation, racist beliefs are held by business owners, CEOs , and others responsible for employing, teaching, and helping individuals of all colors. Even some political leaders, like South Dakota Sen. Phil Jensen(R), sympathize or bolster the message of inequality spread by the organization. Just as recently as a couple of weeks ago, KKK members celebrated their long career of preaching white supremacy. From schools to community outreach to infrastructure to proper civil rights, these communities are being left behind and so are the young black lives that inhabit them. Youths are learning at a slower rate with outdated materials to assist them in doing so. Even higher education experiences bouts of racism as young white adults perceive their black counterparts as lazy and unintelligent compared to whites. This is the type of mindset and attitude that is carried from colleges and universities into the workforce.
