Is the justice system really racist? I do don't think so and here's why. In the 1950’s,60’s,and 70’s the criminal justice system was a little racist. But now a days from the mid 80’s to present i don't think the justice system is racist. If a white and black man commits the same crime. Let's say murder, both men are going to prison, but however the crimes could have been committed differently. The white man killed someone, then admitted to it the next day. The black man killed someone and runs from law enforcement for three months after the crime was committed. In court the white man would then get 25 years with a chance for parole. While the black man would get life without parole. And this would be vice versa if the white man committed the crime like the black man did same thing would happen to him. It also depends on how he acts in court if he’s respect and tell the full truth to …show more content…
the judge he might give him mercy.
Are African Americans more likely to get the cars searched when pulled over?
Maybe but it's not because the police are racist.
Around the big cities there, are a lot of gangs and gang activities. Not saying there isn't any white people in all these gangs but there are more African Americans in the gangs. A police might pull over an African American for no reason just making sure their not doing anything they're not supposed to be doing. It doesn't matter what race he is if a police pulls him over in a bad neighborhood and he looks thuggish or acting suspicious the police will most likely will search the vehicle.
The punishment of drugs are not based on race it depends on the drug and how much he has on him. Say a white man is doing meth and has a lot of it on him. He would be taken to jail with no questions asked. The black man is doing marijuana and has very little on him. There is still a little chance of him going to jail but most likely the police will confiscate the the drug and give him a citation. The point is that it doesn't matter what race you are it matter on what drug you're doing and how much he's
doing.
I don't think that the justice system is racist. If that was true there wouldn't be any African American police officers or african american federal agents. I also think the justice system is just doing its job keeping people safe from criminals in our society. There is so much corruption in our society about race now days. And the mainstream media is just fueling the fire. That police are discriminating against a certain race when in reality the same thing is happening to all races but the main stream is failing to show all that and is putting the spotlight on one race just fueling the fire for racism in our country but not only that it's making people look down on police officers making them lose their job when all they're trying to do is protect the Americans that hate them.
