On a hot summer day as I drove towards a small, isolated town called “Dusduo.” I, a small anxiety riddled Native American girl, had no idea what I was doing in such a barren area. My only three friends: Bailey, Roman and Timmy had spent countless hours convincing me to tag along on this “once in a lifetime opportunity.” They are all thrill seekers, and were thoroughly convinced that it would “change my life” for the better. The sole reason for me accompanying them was simply to witness their stupidity, however I quickly became aware of their motive.…

    Shigatsu Monologue

    • 2001 Words

My biggest problem with Shigatsu would having to be the constant monologuing. I don’t have any problem with monologues as a literary device, but Shigatsu uses it too much. It takes away from the impact of the monologues. I’m a big fan of showing, and not telling as much, but Shigatsu just barely does any *real* showing. There are plenty of monologues that can be taken out of the show, and it would be for the better. When there’s at least one monologue per episode (usually more), it really starts to get tiring for me personally. This only applies to Shigatsu however, as I really like Oregairu, which also had its fair share of monologues. The difference is that Oregairu had enjoyable monologues, while Shigatsu has monologues that border on pretentious.…

In the second grade, I had a crippling fear of my teacher, who loved to play, “Let's pick on all the students who aren’t raising their hands.” In my imagination, school was where carnivorous teachers scanned the classroom, looking to slaughter the most helpless creatures. And it seemed like this one had clear intentions of mounting my prized head on the wall. This meant that I suffered from a chronic case of rapid heartbeat, timid eye contact, and tense palms that left imprints of red crescent moons on my thighs.…

As much as i hated those stinky brat (That only came to hit on my distant cousin), training just didn't feel the same without them, the worst part of this eerie silence is probably how it keep remind me i'm about to sell grandfather's dojo to pay that 50.000$ dollar debt my good-for-nothing failure of a father left behind after his death.
