Christopher Right Monologue
What is your name? Where are you from, and where is this place, called, ‘Heaven’? I rarely say this, but speak freely”, said their chief. Christopher Right, who was still on his knees, began to speak. “I will speak freely and give my testimony, but do not be surprised if you do not like everything you hear. My name is Christopher Right. Days, maybe weeks ago, I was once diving miles off the Australian coast when my friends and I were somehow pulled down under the ocean. My friends had perished, but I had woken up on this island. Later I was captured by someone and brought to this wicked city. That is when I was brought before and you sent me away to jail. However, I would rather suffer in prison than take anything you have to offer me. You …show more content…
Jude then folded his hands and fell down before the king. He began pleading for his life. “My name is Jude Aston. Please, I beg you chief. Spear my life. You are all powerful. That man is not really my friend. Let me stay here with you and have plenty of riches”, Jude cried. David turned his head to see Jude. He was actually hearing his old friend betray him, betray Christ, and shamelessly cower. When Jude was done crying, the chief looked at him for a little longer before starting to laugh and shake his head. “Do you know I have been listening to insults all day? However, if there is one I hate, it is a coward. They want nothing, and they mean nothing. Therefore, you are going to be hanged”, said the chief. He then turned to David. “I will speak more with you in a bit”, the chief said. The guards took away Jude. Unlike Sindas or Shaltu, Jude realized what he had done. He regretted the horrible mistake he made. How could he or anyone for that matter betray their friend and then cower the way he did. David quietly watched the guards take Jude away. No matter how much the guards pushed him, he could not help but walk slowly in shame. His head was bent down as low as it could possibly

Saul was threatened so much that Saul had plotted to kill David. David learned of this and fled to escape the king's wrath. In hiding David further cemented his popularity among the Israelites by "Beginning as an outlaw, with a price on his head, David led the life of a Robin Hood on the desert frontier of his country (Judah). He became the leader and organizer of other outlaws and refugees; and, according to the Bible, ". . . everyone who was in distress, and everyone who was in debt, and everyone who was discontented, gathered to him; and he became captain over them." This group progressively ingratiated itself with the local population by protecting them from other bandits or, in case they had been raided, by pursuing the raiders and restoring the possessions that had been taken" (Britannica). This is immediately seen in the first episode, when she is released from Juvie. As she walked past the gate, she asked David, the social worker in charge, for permission to talk to Jude. When he said she could not talk to him, she got extremely upset and yelled, "What the hell? I wanna talk to Jude!" (“Pilot”). She loved him so much he was the first thing that came to mind after being in Juvie. Jude in a way was also the reason Callie was sent to Juvie in the first place. Later on, when Brandon asked her why she was in Juvie, she explained "My foster father caught my brother wearing one of his ex-wife’s dresses, and started beating the crap out of him... So I got his baseball bat and whacked him on the knees. And then I went outside and beat the hell out of his car. When the cops came, he told them he was defending himself. Nobody seemed to care much about my side of the story" (“Pilot”). Her abusive father had beaten Jude for putting on a dress he found in his closet, and Callie could not stand there and let that happen. She picked up the baseball bat, hit her dad on his knees, then went on to smashing his beloved Mustang. Sadly, when the police came, they did not believe her side of the story and instead took her in for destruction of private property. In this episode, her love for Jude was also portrayed when…

His righteous indignation turned into ill-controlled anger, revenge, and unhealthy ambition that brought grief to David and the untold suffering of innocent people. Be wary of righteous indignation becoming something you do not intend. We grieve the Holy Spirit when we go the “way of Absalom,” and when we reject the direction and leading of the Holy Spirit (Ephesians 4:25-31). As a Church Father noted: By despising God’s words of instruction we grieve the Holy Spirt, and the Holy Spirit leaves us to our own self-will, but then God’s work in us is cut short (Ambrosiaster).…

By using the metaphor of a “ valley of the shadow of death” David speaks of seemingly hopeless situations through the use of a grave tone. The psalmist uses this metaphor to further show the shepherd character of God because through that dark place the psalmist says, “You are with me”. In the final stanza of the poem, the speaker uses the metaphor or his cup running over to symbolize the Lord’s blessing abundance in his life. In the final line, David again uses first person diction to demonstrate his personal relationship with the Lord by saying “ I will dwell in the house of the Lord forever.”…
