Mildred Taylor Courageous

Contrary to the popular notion that only white people can be courageous, the history shows that anyone can be a fearless person if they propose it and leave their fears behind. In fact, deciding to leave your fears, and be a valiant person can bring you a new life without being the slave of anyone, do the right things, and solve problems no matter how gigantic they are. The purpose of this essay is to make people understand that everything is possible as long as they are willing to fight for it. In the novel The Well by Mildred Taylor, there are several courageous characters who stand up and do what is right in the face of great danger.
To begin with, David, who has a lot of courage, takes care of the problems that he never did. For example, David said in front of his Mama and Mr.Ssims that Hammer hit Charlie because of him. It was courageous because he knew that he was volunteered for not stopping Hammer and that’s why he got whipped. That proves that David is a responsible person and instead of running from the situation, he stayed and resolved it. Later, David said to Hammer if he didn’t come back for his punishment, David was going to fight Hammer. This shows that David is brave because he was willing to face his brother. Clearly, it has to be a courageous person to stand
For example, when Mama stood up and told Mr.Ssims that his boy hit David because he couldn’t hold the heavy wagon. This shows that Mama would accomplish anything to protect her family without importing the consequence. It proves that she has a lot of courage by facing a white person, even though she will get into trouble. Later, Mama told Mr.Ssims that his boy poisoned the well. This is important because she is doing the right thing without fighting. I think it takes to be a courageous person to resolve difficult problems.
