Hello classmates, my name is Garrett Osterode. I'm from Anthem, Arizona and I am a freshman here at Grand Canyon University.so far this year I have really enjoyed getting to know my roommates and meeting new friends. School gives me a chance to develop my educational intellectuality and allows me to use my brain in ways not normally used. What I have found to be challenging throughout my years in school is staying focused and keeping my head on straight as I tackle the tasks assigned.
For the past 2 years i have worked at Streets of New York, a local pizza joint in my town. It has been an amazing opportunity and i have been so lucky to have been given the chance to do many things within that job. I have enjoyed being able to do many things within my workplace, I have waited tables, drive deliveries, and make the pizza. Although I have enjoyed my past job, my passion is baseball. So with my degree in Sports Management I hope to eventually work for the Diamondbacks within their charities and help to create new charities that promote Christianity within the world of professional sports.
What i enjoy doing with my time includes: baseball, watching movies, listening to music, and meeting new people. I play on the baseball team here at GCU and i spend most of my free time with that. It is challenging at times, but it is the one thing I love more than anything. The types of movies I enjoy are primarily coming of age tales like The Perks of Being a Wallflower. I also enjoy a sentimental movie here and the there like the The Breakfast Club.
I am obtaining my degree because my passion is baseball and I think with it I can do what I love. They say if you love what you do, you will never work a day in your life, and that is what i am trying to accomplish.
