For instance, I was not a fan of the scene when Roland stopped his fight with Connor. This seemed like an effort to gain sympathy for Roland from the readers when he was unwound, which did not work for me at all. I also disliked Lev as a character. He had his movements, but overall seemed more of a nuisance to Connor and Risa than anything else. Lastly, I feel that the part where the Admiral brings the pieces of Harlan back together is unnecessary for the plot. This scene did add some to theme of the book, but it could have been fit into the plot better by giving Emby a larger role. This book is a great recommendation for anyone who has a strong opinion about abortion law and human rights. Unwind does an amazing job of relating itself to real life issues, which can definitely get you thinking about your beliefs and opinions. I would also recommend this book to younger people. This is simply because the world that Unwind takes place in could very well be similar to our world one day in the future. Finally, those who just want a good book to get hooked onto should pick this story up. It was extremely hard to put this book down while I was reading it. The plot and characters are tremendously engaging, which helps create a great experience for the reader.
