When we accept a single story, we accept an incomplete story. Consequently, we unconsciously create stereotypes which are untrue. Therefore, we tend to think that people that live in other countries are rather different than similar than us, and people who are being stereotyped feel as if they have lost their dignity. For example, Chimamanda said that she used to have one roommate who thought that she was poor, that she didn’t listen to the popular songs but songs from her native country, and silly things that were totally untrue. She felt very bad to know that people from other countries think towards Africans in that way.

Not all Ecuadorians are religious. Also, nowadays people do not have many children. Couples usually decide to have one, two or maybe three children but no more. In addition, the majority of Ecuadorians do not like to read for leisure. They only read when they have to, which is really sad.
