Reason of Study
In the past time, studying aboard might be only a dream for some people due to limited conditions such as opportunity, finance and communication. Nowadays, increasing opportunity of education enables more students to study in other countries. One destination that I desire to visit is Japan, considered as one of the most innovative countries in software development program. The following explanations are the reasons why I want to study in Japan.

Japan has a great reputation of education institutions such as University of Tokyo, the best university in Asia and the 24th in the world. Furthermore, Japan is also one of the leading nations in the fields of scientific research, particularly technology, machinery and biomedical research. This evidence shows that I would gain a lot of useful knowledge to further develop my country including my future career. My dream would be greatly enhanced by achieving this chance.

In addition, today Japan is one of the world's leaders in the development of new environment-friendly technologies. Although economic goes beyond many countries in the world, they are still able to keep a balance between economic development and environmental protection. The climate and atmosphere there are still in a good condition even though they are placed in the country of high development of technology and industry. This would lead to sustainable development in every aspect. It would be a great advantage of my future work to improve and create an environmental friendly software program in Thailand.

Lastly, looking back into Japan’s culture and history, it is amazing that they can recover, develop and improve their country to be the leader of Asia after the Second World War loss. Having such a rapid change refers to hard work of Japanese people. If I get a chance to be there, I would be able to learn their way of thinking, methods and adapt it to further develop my country. Apart from that, cultural issues could be exchanged

Ellison’s purpose in this essay is to prove that “Parker was a most inventive melodist-a true songster” which is evident in paragraph one. He uses the fascination of nicknames to symbolize the achievements of “Bird” and the impact the nickname had on others. He adds in a joke near the end of paragraph two, “why, during a period when most jazzmen were labeled “cats”, someone hung the bird on Charlie.” to show that even though most jazzmen were called “cats” at the time, Charles earned the name of “Bird” because he was above other jazzmen, like a bird would hang high above a cat so the cat couldn’t reach the bird. Charles’s talent was so above all the other “cats”; they couldn’t even reach his level. In paragraph three Ellison compares the goldfinch to Bird. He uses a short apocryphal story of baby Jesus being given a clay goldfinch for a toy and bringing it to life as a metaphor to indicate that Bird brings jazz music to life. The majority of paragraph three is Ellison going through the species of the goldfinch and how it is characterized, then at the end he hits the reader with the problem of why it does not relate to Bird; it’s like the canary. Paragraph four goes on to show the similarities the mockingbird has that connect it to Bird himself. The sentence structure in paragraph four mimics that of a saxophone holding a long, drawn out note. The sentences are long and drawn out, making the reader have to take a breath in between because the sentences are so long which would happen if a jazzman were playing the saxophone. He is connecting the sound of a saxophone to the sentence structure of the paragraph. The last paragraph also sums up the idea that Bird had a complex life but it didn’t minimize his greatness. All of these strategies bring the reader back to the purpose of the essay which proves that Charles Parker was a “most inventive melodist-a…

In my trip to japan I have seen a lot of amazing things. Although japan is very isolated, they are still able to get their culture from neighbor countries such as china and Korea. The religion that they practice is Buddhism which they obtained from china. Another thing they got from china was the Ideographic writing system. The Chinese Tang Dynasty is very important to them because it helped them create their government. I like how they allow women in this time period to have a high position and they even taught them how to read and write!…

Each individual has his own reason for pursuing a graduate degree. Professionally, a graduate degree shows that the person has the motivation, ambition, and dedication to improve and thus strive to obtain a position in which he/she can apply and expand his knowledge base. Many perceive a graduate degree as a status symbol, an opportunity for advancement, or even a cause for more money. The choice to seek additional education after investing four years in an undergraduate degree shows commitment to learning and recognition of self-worth. I chose to pursue a Master’s degree for two reasons; to obtain a higher learning level of education and to eventually increase my annual salary. The first, and most important, reason for my wanting to pursue a Master’s degree is to obtain a higher education level. I believe that obtaining a graduate degree will definitely make me more marketable in the corporate world. My goal is to broaden my horizon beyond the technical world, unlock career aspirations otherwise blocked, and enhance problem-solving and decision-making skills. I am hoping that by pursuing a degree of higher learning, I will pick up enhanced skills that will enable me to be more of an asset to a team once I enter the workforce. I truly believe that without the knowledge, strength and…

Why am I attending college? I enrolled in school for a few reasons. First off I was told that to get a Five Rating (the highest rating) on my next Enlisted Performance Report would have to have completed or be enrolled in college. So in order to keep myself on a strong footing for promotion I needed to head back to school. Second, I am looking to better myself not for a performance report but for myself. Completing college is something I’ve wanted to do for a while now. At my previous assignment I worked many long hours which made it impossible for me to attend school or have much of life for that matter. So now with my new assignment and much lighter work load I no longer have the work excuse. I originally went to Community College after I graduated high school but left in my sophomore year to join the Air Force. I planned on continuing once I was in and did initially but school took a backseat to other things. So in order to correct the errors of my youth I thought would give it another try and see if I can do better as an adult.…

My journey starts when I leave Puebla, Mexico eight years ago without knowing a single word in English to being a first generation college student in the United States. My family consists of my mother, two older sisters, my twin brother, and left behind my alcoholic, abusive father. I have been working in the hospitality industry ever since I arrived, from being a dishwasher to becoming front of the house supervisor. Initially without English knowledge or particular skills I had to settle into working in the lowest paid and grueling position in a restaurant, dishwasher. I was able to move up the ladder by taking night English as a Second Language class at City College of San Francisco and working up to ten hours a day every day. Every semester I took ESL classes, went hand in hand with promotions at work or better employment opportunities, to all the way to becoming supervisor of the restaurant. For this reason, I found in education an exit to poverty and a path to mind enrichment.. My proudest achievements are getting a GED, obtaining a high school diploma after completing the transitional studies program and now a 4.0 GPA in my first semester of credit classes, which I took to transfer to a four year university.…
