Why Occupational Study Is Important To Me
During this occupational study, it helped make it extremely clear to myself that this is definitely what field I would like to go into. I have always loved helping others especially when they are in need. My parents always told me that a nursing career would be a great job for me because I care so much. While at the job shadow, I thought everything that Nurse Whetzel had to do on an everyday basis was extremely interesting and I feel like I would enjoy doing what she did. Nurse Whetsell really inspired me to try a lot harder on everything I do because she truly loved her job and was happy where she was in life.
I feel like I have the ability to succeed and do this job. I know I will need to put a lot of my time and effort into my schooling
to pass all my classes, but I am confident that I will do amazing. I feel that I will be excellent when it comes to communicating with all the patients and making sure that I am able to meet their needs. I am also very competitive, so when it comes to working hard, I will do the best of my ability to do the job correctly without error.
When working, I can not stand immaturity. In the medical field, I feel that there is no extra room for any immaturity whatsoever. The medical field is not a place for fun and games. It is an extremely serious job that needs to be payed close attention too at all times. One slip up could be the difference between life and death. I want my patients to trust me and know that I care for them. I want my patients to know that I am there for them at all times and I will make their stay a beneficial one by being mature, hardworking, caring and generous to everyone.
After researching and finding all the information for this project, I now know for sure that I have found my dream job. This career would fit my needs and I believe that it would be beneficial for me to pursue this career. When a nurse works a shift, they are busy throughout the whole day. A nurse has a very difficult job that includes not only patients but also dealing with paperwork, phone calls, and the families of the patients. With hard work and dedication I know I can make this career work for me.
Although the journey will be rough going through nursing schooling and taking tests, it will be worth it in the end. I am a horrible test taker so with a couple different tutors and a lot of study hours, I shall succeed. As long as you do not give up, I believe a person can do almost anything that they set their minds too. I also love the sound of possibly becoming a nurse because the human body fascinates me and I want to learn how the body functions.
In conclusion, I am tremendously ecstatic that I was given this amazing opportunity to job shadow someone in the medical field. I am glad that we had to research and do this job shadow. I know now for a fact that this is the job for me.
