Otc Career Path
The path I have chosen to take in my life is pursuing a career in the medical field. I am a people person, and I love to take care of others. Helping people reach a goal is very rewarding. I am so happy that OTC has a nursing program. I plan to take all of the necessary requirements to become a nurse. I know that the program is hard to get into, but I plan to achieve this. I know that there are limited spots, but am willing to prove myself. I know that it will not be easy, but that is a risk I am willing to take to achieve my goals. I have worked in several nursing homes as a CNA, and a CMT. I have had my CNA certification for almost 15 years, and my CMT certification for just about 5. The experience that I have is mostly in home health care. I enjoy this, because it is more one on one time with a patient. particularly rewarding, because it just affirmed my belief that I should be a nurse. My top 3 clusters of interest went on to include health science, human services, and law, public service, corrections, and security. I plan to acquire an associate’s degree in nursing, and then transfer to a four year college to get a bachelor’s degree in nursing to become a registered nurse. As a registered nurse, I plan to work part time as a Registered nurse in a nursing facility.
There are lots of PRN positions, which is an as needed position. In my other time, I plan to work in home health care with more of a one on one environment. As I mentioned before I believe that it is better to have a one on one relationship with a client. That ensures that there is enough one on one time with your patient. I really enjoy working with the older generation. I believe that they have done their part in making the world a better place, and that their time here on earth is limited. I really like that I can do MY part in a one on one environment ensuring them comfort and peace. Also them knowing that they are not just another patient in a facility. I believe that it is important to make them still know that they are making a difference. The older generation usually can’t do much in terms of working, but the stories about their generation, hard times, and overcoming hard times have proven to make me a better
